I just am asking a question to any of the meteorologists out there.
I'm planning on going to Western Illinois University to study meteorology, and I know that I need lots of Calculus. So my question is this: How exactly do you use calculus in your line of work? I'm sure i have a vague idea, but i want to be positive.
Oh, and I also would like to comment that Channel 2's meteorologists absolutely are the best! I was flipping through the channels today looking for anything on the funnel clouds, and i turned to channel five (I hate them) and Cindy Prestler said they were tornadoes, but the thing is all the funnels i have seen today have NOT touched the ground. Dave did a good job at saying they were cold air funnels, it relieved me to an extent. I know they can still be potentially hazardous, but after driving in between two of them, you really want to know the truth. You guy's rock! No matter how bad people rip on meteorologists, it sure is better than going without you guys.
Thanks!
(and for good measure, a picture of a retreating cold air funnel) Picture was taken at Bunker Hill High School, looking South-Southwest.

Music
Recently, news concerning music has taken a few punches below the belt, especially for some of my favorite classic rock bands, Van Halen and Boston.
Im really glad that Eddie sought out for the help that he needed, because he's my all time favorite guitarist, and i respect that he went into rehab for his alcoholism. It's a shame that he and Alex couldnt be there for their induction into the Hall of Fame. I was glad that Mike and Sammy were there to accept the award, even though i thought Sammy messed up Van Halen. Lets just hope that Ed gets out quickly so he can wow his fans with his awesome fingers of rock!
Brad Delp...one of the most recognizable singers of classic rock. Me and my friend are taking this whole week to just listen to Boston, and how, with all the other Boston band members, influenced us. It's sad that he committed suicide and all, for some of the music legends out there he was quite young.
Both these events have made me want to practice playing guitar even more than usual, and i've almost got down the intro part of "More than a Feeling" (i really havent been playing long).
Rock On! \m/

Weather
I just wanted to say that the weather the past week has been great. Not too hot, not too cold either.
Perfect golf weather too!
