My baby girl is 17 today and my goodness time flies!
We named her Serenity & we knew right away the name didn't quite fit: She was born screaming & hasn't shut up since! At 4'11", she is a tiny little thing with a personality bigger than life and a mind all her own!
Serenity, your unselfishness touches my heart. You have grown into a wonderful young lady and I am proud of you!
I Love You.

Hi there everyone & happy summer!
I hope you are all well & enjoying the this early summer...despite bieng plagued by seemingly never ending rain!
I have been crazy busy these past few weeks and have missed the blogs terribly! I have posted a few, highlighting some of the most exciting things like Boy Scouts & Brie's high school graduation, but I haven't had much time for "blog-surfing"!
Joey has also "graduated" from pre-school... so I will be completely lost next year when he goes to kindergarten! J.J. has passed to the 2nd grade with flying colors and Serenity will be a senior next year. My granddaughter, Princess Zoe, turned 3 this month - unbelievable!
Okay, now for the most interesting news of all.....
I got a job!
Well, if you want to call it that. I'm working at the day camp at Kelly's Martial Arts, or "Super Summer Martial Arts Kamp", in the afternoons, trading my time so that my boys can go all summer and participate in all kinds of activities. They get to do Tae Kwon Do, learn sign language, take swimming lessons, go on hikes and get just plain worn out! It is alot of fun, but they are already wearing this old lady out!
Please stop in & let me know what you're up to!

Music
Last weekend I enjoyed a "girls weekend" with my mom and my sister. We went to Tunica and Memphis. I'm not Kenny Rogers, so the whole gambling thing wasn't all that exciting for me, although I did win a little on the penny and nickel slots.
The real fun was in Memphis! They were have a B-B-Q Fest, so Beale St. was hoppin' for my first experience. The music was amazing! It was very cool to go from place to place all along the street and hear all the different people playing. Guitars of all shapes and sizes were everywhere!
The highlight by far was Graceland! I was there in 1978...30 years ago you stood in line outside the gates and walked up that long driveway, past the pool and his grave and that was it!
Now you wait across the street and take a shuttle to the front door. The first thing I realized was that it isn't as big as I always thought it was! Before I went, people told me he had hideous taste, that the colors were awful! I disagree! I liked it...well, the kitchen carpet wasn't "all that" and at the time, green shag carpet was fashionable...even on the ceiling!
This is getting long, so I'll hurry it up...there are many museums with all kinds of his stuff on display. Seeing all his jumpsuits reminded me of Tim Ezell and I could see Glenn picking up any one of his guitars and bieng right at home.
Inside are slide shows, they are kind of fun!

This afternoon, my son and I had the honor and privilege of bieng among thousands of scouts who participated in this years "Memorial Day Good Turn"...
We placed flags on each and every grave in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary. I believe just over 181,000.
Each year I have seen the news clips of this event, but I had no idea how truly amazing it would be to participate. The sheer number of scouts, boy scouts and girl scouts, was mind boggling.
After the ceremony, we all fanned out to our assigned areas to get our flags and begin. Then the rain started. Not just a few drops, but a downpour complete with thunder and lightening! No one complained, we just kept going.
The soldiers who have fought and died, the men and women still fighting and dying, wouldn't let a little rain stop them...how could we?
Thank you for protecting my family and my freedom. May God Bless You All.
Please come inside to see a slide show of the day.

Saturday was by far one of the most exciting days a Cub Scout could ask for!
My den took a field trip to J.B. for a day filled with adventure! We started out on a hike just over a mile long, looking for deer and learning map orientation along the way. Our hike ended at the Powder Magazine Museum, where we enjoyed a private tour through military history. Much to our surprise, they were all very well behaved and paid close attention to our guide!
Once finished there, we boarded a 5 Ton Army truck for a ride to the post, where we enjoyed a real "Army" lunch - MRE's ! Darrin (my co-leader) showed the boys how to "cook" their food and then regaled them with exciting tales of life in the field. Fun things, like how to make an MRE bomb, Ranger Pudding and how easy life is when you get 4 squares of TP a day and how to make it last!
When we were finished with the scouts, I took my boys over to another museum in the park (JJ was thoroughly spooked in there!) and we snapped a few photos in the garden.
We had an absolutely wonderful day! Darrin set this up for us and he did a great job! Our driver came in on his day off to give us a ride and "secure" our lunches! Our tour guide did great with all the 1st grade boys and a few "tag along" siblings. Thank you to all of them!
I made a slideshow of our trip, come on in and check it out!

All morning Joey has been making references to the 1970's. Things like "I haven't seen this show since the 1970's, mom!"
Finally I said, "What is it with the 1970's, Joe?"
He gave me this look, and says (with a tone that I should KNOW this already)...
"Mom, I was born in a cornfield in the 1970's and woke up in the future!"
WHERE does he come up with this stuff??

Our Own "Bottom of the Bowl" experience!
This evening we enjoyed our coffee night at South County Bread Co., as usual...but we were in for quite an UNUSUAL experience!
I walked in to find our friend Stephan had turned his hair BLUE! Well, some of it anyway...
So, kk_mom is there with her amazingly beautiful kiddos as well as Michelle and the equally gorgeous Faith. I get my coffee and sit down, expecting typical coffee night conversation, and Perky walks in! We are all thinking "Cool, the more the merrier!" when lo and behold, Stephan presents Perky with her very own box of "Perky-O's" cereal!
No, I am NOT kidding! Well naturally we have to give Mr. Tim Ezell a run for his money with the whole "Bottom of the Bowl" thing...so we made our own commercial...
Come inside and see for yourself!

There were 3 good arguments that Jesus was Black:
1. He called everyone brother
2. He liked Gospel
3. He didn't get a fair trial
But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was Jewish:
1. He went into His Father's business
2. He lived at home until he was 33
3. He was sure his Mother was a virgin and his Mother
was sure He was God
But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was Italian:
1. He talked with His hands
2.He had wine with His meals
3. He used olive oil
But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was a Californian:
1. He never cut His hair
2.He walked around barefoot all the time
3. He started a new religion
But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was an American Indian:
1. He was at peace with nature
2. He ate a lot of fish
3. He talked about the Great Spirit
But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was Irish:
1. He never got married.
2. He was always telling stories.
3. He loved green pastures.
But the most compelling evidence of all - 3 proofs that Jesus was a woman:
1. He fed a crowd at a
Moments notice when there was virtually no food
2. He kept trying to get a message across to a bunch of men who just didn't get it
3. And even when He was dead, He had to get up because there was still work to do

Hi there, everyone! Thanks to Glenn's "Song of the Day" contest, I won tickets to the Boogie Ball last night!
Since there were only 2 tickets I had to think carefully about who to take with me. Neither Jeff nor my sister could go, so my good friend Bev went with me...it was nice to get out and do something together NOT related to Girl Scouts!
Oh my goodness, we had so much fun! Everyone was dressed up, many in vintage "Disco" fashion! Pertz & Randi looked awesome...unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them!
I did, however, get lots of pictures of the show! Come in & check them out!

You all know that I don't REALLY hate anyone...it goes against my nature...
But this is funny, so I'm passing it on!
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the heck is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?
2. People who are willing to get off their butt to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.
3. When people say 'Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too'. Darn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?
4. When people say 'it's always the last place you look'. Of course it is. Why the heck would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their hineys!
5. When people say while watching a film 'Did you see that?'. No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.
6. People who ask 'Can I ask you a question?'.... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?
7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.
8. When people say 'life is short'. What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?
9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks 'Has the bus come yet?'. If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?
