I have found out when God wants you to know something He will tell you. In my first blog My God I said " I find it hard to think that the words in the bible came from those who knew or lived in the time of Jesus or before" Well.. I went to church yesterday for the first time in about 2 months. The Gospel being reads was Matthew 13:1-23. The Priest stated this was one of the few parables that Jesus actually took the time to explain (hmm). Then the Priest went on to quote a conversation between 2 people, the first asked "Why don't Catholics read the Bible, the second answered because we wrote it." I then found out that some followers of the Apostles of Jesus decided some years after Christ rose from the dead that what he taught should be written down and this is how the New Testament came to be. Is this coincidence...?

I was baptized, raised, and still am Catholic. Not all of my beliefs however coincide with those I was raised with. If my mom ever read this she would be upset but.. I find it hard to think that the words in the bible came from those who knew or lived in the time of Jesus or before and I do not take everything in it literally ( that's impossible). I do however understand the moral message that comes from it (that which I have read) and I agree with it. I believe that God can be a vengeful God though I doubt I will ever see it. I also believe that people make the mistake of blaming everything bad that happens on "Why did God let this happen?" but the truth is WE let it happen whether purposely or accidentally. God is not there to intervene with all that can happen, He is there to help us out of that that does, if we have faith. I personally believe in God because of all that I see in nature. There is no way a Great Boom, or Darwinism created it, it is too beautiful! I try to have a positive approach and attribute everything that is good in my life to God and everything bad to the failings of being human (although being human in itself is not bad). Some might say this is a crock, but honestly what does it hurt to believe in someone greater than myself. Our mistake comes from thinking that we should never have hardship because of it. One of the many points of Life is to learn. My last opinion is that one cannot convince another that God exists, for me I was born into it raised with it and I see it as a positive to pass down, for others it has taken a major event. For those who don't believe in God it is as easy for me to say prove God doesn't exist as it is for you to say prove He does. We cannot see the air we breathe yet we breathe it. This started from reading a blog in the news section.

Happy Independence Day everyone! As we watch our fireworks tonight let us think about and pray for those who are seeing the real fireworks overseas. Let us also remember that these fireworks are a symbol of the "bombs bursting in air" that Francis Scott Key penned while we were fighting for our freedom over 200 yrs ago. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
