snoopdad, Do you have the any information when Al Gore took a trip to Saudi Arabia,I think it was in 1995 or 1996,asking Opec to raise prices on a barrel of oil,at that time it was as I understand it, was a policy of the Clintons administration to help Russia hold on to it nuclears weapons and to shore up Russia economy. Opec.I think Opec said, What a great idea!!

What's your point? you think the price of oil will go down because it's American oil and the oil companies are so darn patriotic they'll give it to us cheap?
There IS no shortage. It's all hype and greed. Get as much as they can before the oil barren gets out of office.

Hello Mr. Adams, I got this through the e-mail but this is what I have been saying about how we can be environmentally responsible while drilling for oil or developing areas. In a previous blog I mentioned how farming and oil wells were able to live side by side. As well as how nature adapts to man-made structures and development. If nature can’t adapt it has ways of taking what belongs to nature back (prime example are river levees).

Jusatyro, I have all kinds of access to information through the use of Google. Lots of varying opinions about Gore’s 1996 OPEC trip. But don’t be fooled Dems want higher prices which in turn creates higher taxes to pay for superlative “save this” or “help everyone” programs. How do you think Europe’s national healthcare is paid for?

Nailer, as I have said in other blogs China and India are now increasing the demand of oil. Both countries have quadrupled their road miles and motorized vehicles. Not to mention creating their own national oil reserves. Oil provides us with much more than gasoline or diesel fuel. Next time you open your water or soft drink bottle think about how plastic is made? Not to mention how oil is used in making a wide variety of other things. Will prices go back down? I really doubt it. Rarely will prices roll back once increased. However as I also said this is one of the potential warning signals of an economy collapsing when prices of oil and other products rise and then wages rise to meet expenses. The problem is though wages never raise as fast as the products.

What am I going to do about it? Nute Gingrich has a DRILL NOW PETITION on his web site. I signed it.I will vote a straight Republican ticket. Unless my little sister is running; I have to vote for her. I am also going to get everyone I know to contact members of congress and let them know voters want oil drilling started in Anwar and off shore.

jusatyro - hate to tell you, but the neither the Saudis or OPEC set the price of oil. The price of oil is determined strictly by supply and demand.

You want lower prices, increase exploration and production and the price will go down. It's that simple, yet everyone wants to stand around with an excuse for not doing anything for a whole plethora of limp-wristed reasons. (It'll take too long, It's not green, We won't develop alternatives etc. etc.) Given American knowhow and ingenuity it will happen sooner than any of us think if we get the damn politicians out of our way.
