HA!  Let me tell you about the adventure on 3-4-8, Hey, that's today.   I waited until the heart of this storm to really roll in so I can go out and play in the snow.  My honey and I started out first like many others that decide they could be brave!

So much for washing my car on Friday.  From there we are heading to Granite City, told ya I was hitting the bank. I even had my own driver. HA!  The roads are very slippery in areas especially the side roads, or so we thought.  Usually Caseyville 's Street Department is on top, but today guess they all decided to take a break.  They deserve a break now and then.

From Caseyville until  we approached the New Collinsville Crossing we only seen this:

Yes, 1 vehicle on the road, or in the distance there could that be a snow plow?  I don't know I am Snow blind. But, once you reached Collinsville Crossing off 157 comes the excitment.  We watched many spin outs, people doing U-turns in the middle of  157/55-70.  And I like to know where are the Troopers during this?  My honey and I got past that area and onto Horseshoe Lake Rd.

Oh, a dry patch..LOL  Once you hit 111 the roads are terrible as 157, but the drivers are worse.  I gave up taking pictures thought I would distract them more and my luck they hit my car.  I just yelled at him for kicking my car!  Yeah, I know last week it was the radio.  So, out of the 24 cars we seen 20 of them all need lessons except the lonley car above.

Have a Good Day!  Please, Be Civil out there!  The Place you are heading too will still be standing, so take you time we have lots of it.

I took my son to work at around 11am. The roads were awful. I'm really surprised I made it there. There were about 5 people on the road, and it was a total whiteout situation. Very Scary!!!!!!!!!!

I saw people sliding and abandoned vehicals everywhere. I suggest people go to empty parking lot (school on weekend is a sure shot)and with care check and see how your vehical responds under certain road conditions. Making the correct reaction to a situation out of instinct because you alresdy know what to expect and how to stay in control is a life and money saving skill. (don't just go out there and do doughnuts)LOL

Driving in these conditions would be a lot easier if people would get the proper equipment for the conditions! Winter tires are a must if it is going to snow/sleet or if the roads ice over.

I have swapped out my tires to true winter tires for the past 12yrs and have never had any problems driving in these conditions!
