Perks Entertainment!

Look, we have more motorist out there than pedestrians, however, no one  wants to stop and let them cross.  Even the crossing lights mean nothing today.  Today, watching a lady cross the street and once she got across I watched the driver of another vehicle look at her like she was cutting in her driving time.  Excuse me, but I thought they had the right-a-way?  We R not living in New York, so try to start being a bit nicer.

Now, I would just stick my arms out and stop traffic and let my kids cross, because I am not going to stand at the corner half the day wondering if anyone is going to let us cross over.

Its almost like Why did Perky cross the street?

Make up your own punchline, because I am all out of goober talk. HA!

Don't hold your arm out too far someone will knock it off, as they zoom past you.lol
People don't even bother stopping at stop signs. I don't know what planet they come from but it sure can't be ours.

When my son was in grade school I was one of the volunteer crossing guards on Tuesdays. I controlled the light and had my little stop sign. It is unbelievable how many would run the light. It would be the same idiots every Tuesday, same time every time, like clockwork, always speeding in the school zone.
I guess they did not run me over because if they would have hit me, I would have put a pretty good dent in their little sporty cars.

Flaglady I here you there. My house is the bus stop on a 4 way stop..and no one wants to stop. I have grades 5th-8th every morning sitting on my porch. LOL! I would totally out someone's car if they were to hit me. Shoot, they may get thrown out of the vehicle if they did hit me. I feel for the city road workers for that huge hole in the road would cost some money. HA!

It's unbelievable how people can drive these days. I live on a busy street where the speed limit is suppose to be 25mph, but it's not uncommon to see motorists going way over that.

People drive on I-44 where it is supposed to be 60 MPH from before Valley Park until around Kingshighway where it is supposed to drop to 55 MPH and they are going 70 or faster all the way. They have their children with them watching dad or mom driving the Indy 500 and they grow up without any reguard for the speed limits. The highways are designed to accept traffic at a certain speed to be the most effective, free-flowing arteries that they can be. When you speed, you will eventually cause another person to have to slow down dramatically because you had to cut in front of them to exit. When that person slows down a chain reaction occurs behind him because we don`t leave enough room between vehicles, and you have your gridlock. If the speed limit is 60, go 60. When you come to a construction sight, slow down before you get into it and drive the posted speed. Everyone will be safer and you will improve the flow of traffic.

perky_i know what you mean. yesterday I was at the gravois bluff shopping center with my 4 children buying new shoes and school stuff. My 8 year old almost got plowed over the person was oblivious to anyone. people would do a lot better if they would just slow down.

It seems like people are taking for granted the following question:

"If traffic lights are timed for 35 mph wouldn't they also be properly timed for 70 mph?"

I have seen where some think that a person in a cross-walk is just more points to their credit.

driving in and around gravois bluffs, is dangerous. there are a few stop signs by kohls, that one out of ten drivers stop for. i see people walking, and they don't look to see if a car is coming, which is really stupid. they assume the cars will stop for them, and they don't. i have seen drivers actually make a left into walmart turn into the lane where you come out, and they are looking directly into another drivers window tht is pulling out correctly. i try to go there as little as possible.

Perky nice blog! I personally feel that when they call it an accident it is an accident that could have been avoided ya know? We have that here all the time at the bus stop too. I ALWAYS let people walk. For one, I am in a car with A/C or heat. They are in the cold or heat. People should be more considerate but they aren't..... IF EVERYONE CARED!!!!

What I don't get.....how come cars whiz by in school zones when the orange light is flashing on the signs that says 15 mph or 20 mph when light is flashing, school zone. DUH!!!!! Hello? I guess people are in too much of a hurry to respect our childrens safety.

OMG. I have a blog up about Gravois Bluffs. It is one of the worst places to drive that I have ever been!!!!! Usually about 2-4 cars go through the red lights on 141 and people drive like idiots on the side street and parking lots. I can't understand why they only put one entrance into that place...ok, I know there is a back way in and out, but only the people who live back there use it mostly.
