I am not sure what category to put this under but I am curious.
Does anyone know what my liabilities are if while we are on vacation we let our neighbors use our pool.  I am thinking about it, they are very good friends but new friends with two rambuncious (spelling ????) boys ages 2 and 6. I haven't said anything to them yet I just thought it would be nice to do since she is at home and a lot of times I feel bad when it is hot and we are swimming and the boys are staring.  Don't get me wrong I do invite them over sometimes.

Anyway I just wondered if it was a bad idea if something would happen. But wouldn't their parents be responsible since we aren't home? Or is this more of an insurance question?

OK, I was over this really but I thought about it again and wondered if I was in the right to be upset. Saturday my family went to the Cards game. It was a 12:10 start. We parked on the lot across from the police headquarters (the lower area ). The upper area is right across from Scott trade. We met friends and family down there before the game and hung out for an hour and then went to the game. After the game we were socializing some more. My husband and I had to leave about 4 so my son could make it to work and we were getting ready to leave when the parking attendant yelled at us(just my husband and I not everyone else -as there were several groups socializing after the game-we just happened to be close to the booth) She said "you have to leave there are cars lining up here waiting to park for the Blues game". They had let too many cars in and had no where to go with them. Is that my problem???? I paid for the day, it said so on my ticket. And what about all the cars from those that maybe went to Shannon's or out somewhere else after the game. What about those that went to both events?? We were getting ready to leave anyway but I told her if we didn't have to go we wouldn't. She stood in front of our car with a car behind her waiting to park there until we left. And no, we were not causing trouble or being drunk or anything. We were with kids and not even drinking. I almost wish I would not have had to leave because I think we would have left the lot to do some sight seeing.

So was I in the right here??? And just as a side note she was not nice about it, she was yelling at us like we were doing something wrong. She was really rattled by the cars she let in and the people getting mad. I guess I am looking for validation here!!! lol

Let me first say that I have no ties to the company besides the fact that I shop there regularly.

I am so sick of these union people trying to drag Wal Mart down. I realize it is not all of them and there are certainly good people in unions but give it a rest. Get over the fact that you stood to make a kajillion dollars in union dues off Wal Mart employees and they didn't want you in there. I don't blame them. And as a shopper at Wal Mart I am glad because I wouldn't be able to afford it if they did.

I shop where it best fits my budget, I shop at all different stores based on the best value for my family and if Wal Mart can give that to me I will shop there, if not I won't. Bottom line.

They do alot of good in the community, I would rather they give millions of dollars to the Children's Miracle Network than the unions. I am sure if you look at the company through a microscope like they have been, you will find something shady but that is with any company, There are thousands of employees and not all of them are going to be on the up and up. Saying they are not Christian is laughable. Most people I know laughed at those ads that ran last year at Christmas about that.

Wal Mart is not the only huge company that runs smaller companies out of town, what about Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Not too many little local hardware stores around either is there?

I really wish the media would stop covering their VERY SMALL protests -aren't there other things going on?  Boy that will be front page news for the Post Dispatch "25 people are not happy with Wal Mart" out of the millions that shop there.

FIND A BETTER CAUSE

I got this as an email from my sister who has a daughter and son-in-law who are devout Southern Democrats. I thought it was hilarious and thought I would share it.

Father - Daughter Talk



A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so

many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal

Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of

higher taxes to support more government programs; in other words,

redistribution of wealth.



She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch

Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures

that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a

professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil,

selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.



One day, she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher

taxes on the rich, and the need for more government programs . The

self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professor had to be the

truth, and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how

she was doing in school.



Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and

let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was

taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which

left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She

didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many

college friends either because she spent all her time studying.



Her father listened, then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?'

She replied, 'Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy

classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so

popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited

to all the parties, and lots of t imes she doesn't even show up for

classes because she's too hung over.'



Her father asked her, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask

him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend Audrey,

who only has a 2.0? That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA, and

certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.'



The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily

fired back, 'That's a crazy idea! How would that be fair? I've

worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a

lot of hard work. And she's done next to nothing toward her degree.

She played while I worked my tail off!'



The father slowly smiled and said gently, 'Welcome to the

Republican Party.' 
 

I have had it with all the fundraisers that both schools and sports teams have nowadays. I have an 18 year old, 15 year old and a 7 year old and things have changed alot between the 15 and 7 year old that is for sure. The older ones used to have two fundraisers at their grade school every year -fall and spring.  They sold the typical candy and overpriced wrapping paper but it wasn't too bad. They played sports too through CYC and they didn't do fundraisers at all.  Well my 7 year old played football this year and in the 3 months of practice and games they had three fundraisers. Not to mention his school had two of their own.  I have a large family but I could hardly show my face when I came in with another fundraiser. The football and school major fundraisers actually overlapped. How in the world do they expect the kids to sell that much BOOGEDY.  School and football start around the same time and it is only December --5 fundraisers!!!  Are all the schools and sports doing this or am I in the wrong area??? Do they really make that much money? I would rather pay a few extra tax dollars or a higher sign up fee.  I don't mind one a year or maybe two if they are spread out.  I just think it is getting ridiculous.
