Christmas........

I know it's 82 days until Christmas...but a lot of people start their shopping early...

Every year I tell myself I'm cutting down, but end up spending way too much...

I'm curious to see who really has cut down...who will have to begin cutting down this year...who still splurges and worries about it later...

I think we (speaking for my family) need to bring back some traditions from years past...simplify things...anyone have any that they still hold on to today?...Growing up, we were sometimes "curious" (okay, sneaky) ...my mom resorted to different tactics each year to deter us... from numbering our packages to having 4 big boxes under the tree, one for each of us kids...our gifts were all wrapped inside the big box...

My kids are grown now, so all they have on their list is cash...it's easy but that's not a gift...

Enlighten me...whats on the agenda for this Christmas?

I have a thought that often runs through my mind.  I decided to throw it out there and see if anyone else has ever felt the same way...

Do you ever feel like you were born to live somewhere else?

Why do you live where you live? What influenced you to put down roots where you are today?

So many where I'm from were born and raised here, stayed in the area and built their lives from there.  Some go away to college and live where ever their careers take them.  Some people are transferred because of their job.

I have always felt that I belong on the Gulf.  I'm a beach bum :-)...Whenever I'm there it's the greatest feeling in the world to me. I never tire of it.  You've heard the old saying "it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there"...well, I want to live there lol...I've spent most of my years as a frequent visitor of the coast. Why is it "vacation" and not my residence? Because I was one that built my life where I was raised.  I encouraged my kids to go away to college for many reasons but one in particular was to experience whats out there, new places.

Where do you feel you were born to live or are you happy right where you're at?

With all the news surrounding the A-B merger...I am reminded of that song we sang on those long bus rides for school field trips...

"99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" according to Wikipedia is a traditional song particularly sung by pre-teen children...

Isn't it kind of strange that it was acceptable for kids to sing a song about beer? lol : )

No blogs about Molina?

I pray that he is okay.

This could be a very serious injury.

Anyone at the game?

Debate Over Training Your Husband Still Buzzing

I'm sorry, this is the biggest waste of time. Why would someone want to spend their life even trying, lol.

Men cannot be "trained" and why would you want them to be? You picked them, so they must have passed the test at some point. Trying to change them or "train" them is useless imo. Anything that a person doesn't care enough to do from the get go, would only be a temporary fix. You can't change a person.

Sometimes its not the other person that needs to change.

What would you "fix" about your other half? : )

I just want to give a shout out to my son Kyle, who just found out he will be graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois on May 11th. Summa Cum Laude is awarded to the top 3%.

His name will be inscribed on the Bronze Tablet which is displayed in the University library for life.

He will be moving to Connecticut next month to pursue his MD/PhD and will be there eight years.

Thanks for letting a proud mom express her excitement a bit.

Woo Hoo...Go Kyle (he would be shaking his head right now if he could see this, lol)

:  )

I just read this story...

Looks like Maury might be canceled, although on his show they test ten men to one women and still can't find the daddy. At $20 per test, I guess that could get quite costly : )
