I was being lazy so i decided to drive over to the Pond and made an amzing discovery.. There was a Huge buck laying Dead in the Pond .. It must have been Shot from the Previous season and not found . Photobucket Paul and Luke Came back from their walk with no luck to Discover i had found a buck of a lifetime ..It would be Definite wall Hanger for Avid Hunter.. Paul Sawed off the Rack and i took a Picture of a Future Trophy Hunter In the making .. Photobucket We all had an awesome time Spending it in the Great Outdoors .. THanks Michelle For letting Your men Come out for the Day and Sharing a Good time with me and my Dad .We had a blast !!!!

This is weird...I also found a dead deer today...much smaller antlers though, and dead for a longer time, I think.

I remembered reading about this just recently in Missouri Conservationist Magazine, so I thought I would share:
Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 10 of the Wildlife Code: Any person who finds a dead deer with antlers still attached to the skull plate while afield and takes those antlers into possession must report the taking to a conservation agent within 24 hours to receive possession authorization. Shed antlers not attached to the skull plate found while afield may be possessed, bought and sold by any person without possession authorization.

I contacted a longtime Friend that i have known since i have been hunting .. Mike Helland is a 30 year Veteran and a Supervisor of the Missouri Conservation .. I called him at home and he is issueing me a donation permit for my Find... I have been a hunter for a long time so i do know all the laws .. and yes Cricky i am very proud that i found this Deer .. I didnt kill this Deer but i have a Vested interest in everything on my Farm .. I plant Food Plots . I provide them with Nutrition year round as well as Mineral blocks year round . SO when i see an Amazing animal that was in such good shape until his Sad untimely demise .. I am Proud that i had a part in providing every living Creature on my property with their needs ...

whne i had talked to Mike Helland today on the phone he said there had been several Cases of An epizootic of hemorrhagic disease in white-tailed deer in Missouri.. Its casued by a fly bite and they go to water and Foam at the mouth and basically he said their Brain Deteriorates .. I dont think that is what happened to the deer that i had Found .But i could be wrong i think it had been Shot by a local Hunter and not Retreived . i Can see how someone wouldnt have found it becasue there was only about 3 inches of his rack out of the water ot be seen .. i just happened on to it as i wallked by the check on the persimmon Tress i had planted last Spring ..

Hey Danny... I'll have to come over to your farm some sunny day..... I'll be hunting but I won't be using a gun..... I'll be digging holes with the metal detector.......

Guess I'd be finding a lot of Pauls shell casings though.....

yeah Tommy Paul is quite the hunter .. He gets overwhelmed with all the deer He sees .. There are quite a few Shells all over the farm ..Paul and i both were heart sick seeing such a beautiful Deer going to waste .. Some people look at hunters as Cruel heartless Killers but the truth is we care about the well being of every living Creature ...

Nightpanther...I know that you really do care about animals and people alike!! Paul asked me today if I would want to go up to your farm sometime, and I said "that's a BOY farm!!" We are glad you are part of our family.
