St.
Patrick's Day parade goers will pass through security checkpoints before
celebrating in the St. Louis
neighborhood of Dogtown today.
Organizers
with the Ancient Order of Hibernians say they're trying to keep people from
bringing in their own alcohol to the parade route. Backpacks and coolers will
be searched. The fraternal order is trying to reduce underage drinking and cut
down on trash.
The parade
starts at 12:30 Monday afternoon. Organizers say alcohol will be available for
sale in the parade area. The public may bring food, water and soda. Glass
containers are banned.
What do you think about the Hibernians new rule about not bringing your own beer to Dogtown on Monday?

Kitchen Nightmares is Chef Gordon Ramsay's new hit show on Fox 2 airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m.
This week (11/21/07) Chef Ramsay tries to rev up business for Lela's, an upscale restaurant in desperate need of diners. When Gordon gets in the kitchen and starts criticizing the menu items, the executive chef is less than thrilled and they have a showdown in front of the entire staff.
Watch a preview of the show by pressing play in the video player below. Click the little black box on the lower right of the player to go full-screen.
And since this is Thanksgiving week Chef Ramsay has some Turkey Tips:
- Test the Turkey- To ensure your turkey is cooked, skewer the thickest part of the thigh and check the juices. If they're clear, the turkey is done; if they're pink, the turkey needs more time in the oven.
- Baste the Turkey- To avoid the skin shriveling as it cools, baste the turkey as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- Rest the Turkey- Never slice the turkey straight from the oven! When the turkey is ready, cover it with tin foil and let it rest for at least 25-30 minutes. Resting the meat allows the juices to redistribute in the bird, making it moise and tender.
- Slice the Turkey-Use the whole bird Carve the breast first and then start on the legs.
- Gravy-Don't forget the pan juices from the turkey-roasting tray! It's where all the turkey flavor is stored, and makes a great base for your gravy.

The myFOX website receives many pictures from our bloggers. We thought
we'd have a little fun giving some of your pics a little recognition
with a game called "Create a Caption". And YOU write the caption for the photo!

Hey everyone, just to let you know the Message Boards on our website have been shut down temporarily. Someone had spammed them pretty bad with inappropriate content, and we are in the process of deleting them and deactivating accounts. Thanks for your patience, and they'll be back up soon.
After attacking our message boards, they started attacking our blogs, so we have had to resort to temporarily locking down the blogs.
We apologize for this inconvenience!
We are working hard at approving your blog postings and comments as quickly as possible ... just give us a few minutes to make approvals.
Thanks!

Show Us Your Avatar!
Jul 6, 2007 | 4:19 PM PST

Entertainment
What, you ask, is an “avatar”?
Why, it’s that graphic next to your blogger name and bio (our says myFOXstl.com Web Team). When you first sign up, it looks something like a
“hidden identity” silhouette.
Well, everyone on here would really like to see something
that represents YOU!
It’s easy to load up an avatar … and you can make it
something simple or create something all on your own.
Many people use snapshots of themselves, their pets, or
someone special, like their children.
Other people like to use a graphic or symbol, like the sun, a flower,
that sunset from vacation, their favorite band’s logo. Any graphic or photo saved on your computer
will work!
You can even use one of the graphics that came on your
computer, usually from a program like Word.
Besides letting us know a little about yourself, your avatar
makes it easier for people to spot your replies in the comments … and, you may
get highlighted on the blog home page if you have an avatar! We will usually only feature bloggers on the
right side of the blog home page if you have an avatar.
How do you load an avatar you ask? It’s easy!
Once you have signed in to your blog, go to the tab that
says, “My Info”
Now click on the “Browse” button at the top of the page and
find the photo or graphic you have chosen to use. Click on the name of the photo or graphic.
Now you will end up back on that “My Info” tab … click on
the “Upload Photo” button.
It will take a few seconds (you will see a circle with red
dots going around) then it will go back to a screen telling you the photo or graphic you just loaded is waiting
for approval. We check your photos and
avatars every couple of hours and will approve them, then you will see your
photo or graphic show up next to your blogger name and bio!
Now don’t forget about the bottom of that “My Info” page and
put at least something about yourself in the “About Me” box. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant if
you don’t want it to be … but tell us at least one or two things about
yourself.
Let us know if you have any questions. We’ll do our best to help you out and get
your avatar posted!
