Spammers Attack Message Boards & Blogs

Hey everyone, just to let you know the Message Boards on our website have been shut down temporarily. Someone had spammed them pretty bad with inappropriate content, and we are in the process of deleting them and deactivating accounts. Thanks for your patience, and they'll be back up soon.

After attacking our message boards, they started attacking our blogs, so we have had to resort to temporarily locking down the blogs.

We apologize for this inconvenience! 

We are working hard at approving your blog postings and comments as quickly as possible ... just give us a few minutes to make approvals.

I'm for whatever you do.
If that means that you need to examine post before they are posted then so be it. It only slows down the conversation.

I was wondering what was going on when I placed a comment and a message responded telling me the "...comment had to be approved". I thought I was in trouble for insulting GWB or something!

Thanks, Web Team Dudes, for keeping after those spammers. There is always some creep taking advantage of today's online technology and getting in our face.

As a programmer, I'm working on anti-spam spam. I'm really trying to figure out how to determine what server/page these things come from, then bring THEM down. As I'm sure the Web Team knows, it is difficult to trace IP addressess and sources.

But let's work on it - maybe the only way to stop this in the long run will be to give them a taste of their own - garbage.

Man, approving all these messages must be a pain in the... I guess you folks are working some late hours tonight.

We're still working on the situation guys.

There are still issues this morning (Saturday), so you'll have to be patient a little longer.

You guys make this blogging community great!

We're approving blogs as fast as we can!
