36 hours without is rough when not expecting it..!!

igloo.jpg igloo image by rosyglow

Wow I lost my A C yesterday morning and just now got it working..... When your not used to having no air without a backup plan, it is rough..... Windows and a couple of fans doesn't keep a house very cool..... Getting a serviceman on a hot day like today is another chore ..... But when I described the problem over the phone the owner of the company told me that he was pretty sure he knew what it was doing and could fix it on the way home this evening..... Well it only took 10 minutes to replace a capacitor and the A C was fired and cold..... Less than 80 dollars including the service call and the Igloo was ready for the Eskimo..... We never had air as a kid but we did have some big fans pulling air through the house.... After a hot sweatty night with little sleep, I am looking forward to tonight.... Tomorrow I will go one forward and clean the squirrel cage, A coils and hose off the evaporator...  A clean A C unit could add as much as 15 degrees to your cooling power......

Have you lost your cool lately.....!!

Are you ready for a house guest...??

My son got the call late last that the Americorp's emergency response team that he is on will be heading south to assist with the tornado aftermath of  last night.... When I was a child a tornado took the roof off the house I was sleeping in....Ever since I have always tried to make sure that I do not live in flat lands..... Although no one is totally safe from a twister, they are more prone to gain strength and follow valleys and avoid hilly areas..... Unless you have actually been through a twister, it is hard to imagine how it can be so calm and quiet one moment and your house gone the very next..... We are guests on this  planet and should always have utmost respect for Mother Nature.......

Do you have a plan if needed....??
