Ode to the old cowboys....!!
I was saddened to learn of a long time friend passing this morning..... But instead of mourning his death, it would be more proper to celebrate the life of one of the last old cowboys.... Old country music is becoming something you hear about but hardly hear anymore...... This old cowboy lived the life of a country bumpkin and even spent time in Nashville....... If he picked up a guitar he was sure to play some very old classic stuff..... His lifestyle probably shortened his life, but one must assume that he died living the way he wanted......... So tonight I will stop in at the bar he loved to sing at and sing an old old country song and drink a beer and toast the old cowboys.....

It was written for the Mississippi...!!
"When the Levee Breaks" is a blues song written and first recorded by husband and wife Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The song is in reaction to the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927.
It was famously re-worked by English rock group Led Zeppelin as the last song on their fourth album, released in 1971. The lyrics in Led Zeppelin's version were based on the original recording.
Wow I always thought that Led Zepplin wrote this song..... It is useless trivia to know but I find it most interesting....

Missed Heartsfield, you missed a great show....!!!!
I had a great time last night partying with some of the Bloggers..... Great seats.... Better than front row center.... We even got on stage to meet and talk to the band members.... Nothing but high energy Southern Rock going for hours.... The House of Rock is a great place to go and see a band..... Special thanks to Ray the manager for arranging a group table for us to sit at.... Lots of pictures taken so post some here ..........
