Does  praying in public hamper your image...!!

bikerpraying-241x165.jpg biker praying image by gerardi2021

Tough guys have the hardest time showing their soft side..... I have been guilty of this most of my life..... I  am incapable of crying.....  It doesn't mean that I don't care..... This is much more common in men than women.... 99 percent of the world prays..... Some will pray in public and others will seek their private shrine to make their peace with God..... But the need to pray in private sometimes will be misinterpreted as being cold and uncaring...... I never judge a person by features...... I restrict judgement of a person to  their deeds......  The nicest people I know are some of the scariest looking and some of the most cold blooded people I have ever met were so normal and safe looking....... Everybody has a special place that they make peace with God..... I prefer to be in the woods when I want to think, meditate and pray...... I suppose I view nature as God and feel closer to him when there  ...

Where do you feel closest to God.....??

I am now a single mom with two girls so I can also be hard and soft.

I cry almost every other day. :~)

I must feel closest to God when I'm with my kids. The only time I pray in public is when I'm with my kids.

They're the greatest gift God has ever given me. Sometimes when I watch them play I cry with joy and gratitude.

I rarely cry but that doesn't mean that I don't feel things deeply.

I feel closest to God when I'm at church and also when I am hiking by myself. I feel close to God when I pray.

I feel closest when I rock a baby, or when I am alone in the woods or near water like when I'm fishin.

I pray in public every time I eat out. I don't make a big thing of it, but I say prayers before I eat.

don't really remember any other time the subject came up. Except after 911

The strange thing tho, it very hard for me to pray with a small group of people if I don't know them very well. I can bow my head and say grace in a packed restaurant, but I can't stand and be the one to lead people in saying grace. I'm never sure that I know how to pray "correctly".

Hey There

I feel close to God all the time.

Really doesn't matter where I am just knowing he is there when I need him no matter where or when.

I pray everyday for everybody and I always ask for forgiveness for I do fall short of the Glory.

My God is my Peace!

i always talk to God every nite... i always thank him for the day, and thank him for keeping my family and friends safe... a pray for people that need it ... i pray every nite... and i thank God every nite for something or another.

i always cry, heck i can watch one of those save the children commercials or that "in the arms of an angel, one with the abused animals, and i will cry..lol

praying isent only saying a memorized prayer ya learned, praying is makeing up your own or just talking to God

My grandma used to walk around the house and you would think God was standing right next to her. She'd look up every once in awhile and say "Thank you, Jesus, this is a beautiful day" Lord, I need your help, where did I put ?" When we were kids we learned to clear the area when she said "Lord, I love these grand kids and I thank you for giving them to me, but I'm about to give them back"

I always envied her faith. I never saw her actually bow her head and pray, but she prayed all day.

I'm not much of a crier, but I have noticed since my son's death the tears come easier. I never cried over movies, commercials, or music before. I do now.

When I Dee Jay a wedding I always find it interesting as who is going go give the blessing before dinner.... Some weddings there is no one willing to say grace..... One I will never forget is when a 10 year old boy said the prayer...... He was so good and very sincere

I say prayers all the time. Outdoors is where I feel the work the most. I will say.. Today is a day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. .. and say thnx. At work, if I hear a story of a sick loved one, I'll stop what I'm doing and say a silent prayer for them. (at my age, I don't save it for later.. I might forget and there's so many to remember.. )

I rarely pray for things I think are frivolous but hubby and I were going to get our passports. I googled the address of the post office and didn't write it down..(what was I thinking?) Anyway.. it was 3 rights.. how hard could that be to find and.. I'd remember the street names when I saw them. We took the first right...easy... then there was the second..again.. the name came right to me...the third street wasn't showing itself to me. My husband said.. are you SURE it was a right? I think it's left. I said.. I am SURE it was another right. In my frustration I closed my eyes and said out loud. God, please show me the third street sign. I opened my eyes and THERE IT WAS.. yes, Church street.. lol I smiled and said thnx.

Oh, and the woman said it would take 2 to 6 weeks to get the passport. They came in EIGHT days! Amazing.. :)

Because I am a very public person within my community and school system I get called upon to ask the blessings before meals. I seem to have no issue with doing this but people who are new to our community fine it odd we still pray before a meal at our "public" school.

As far as crying.....I am a very compassionate person and get emotional but I try very hard in public to keep that in check. When my friends are in pain, I feel their pain and most of the time I try to offer help either in a physical way or just talking with them.

I was raised to say the "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" prayer every night at bedtime with Mom or Dad sitting on my bed and always prayed before we ate... as an adult raising kids, my boys chose to pray privately at bedtime while my daughter would ask if she could say them and I would listen...

after a near death experience...my eyes were opened in ways I could never explain or even do justice trying to...I will stop to pray at anytime..anywhere..always in thanks..even when I feel physically weak and hurting from my injuries..I thank him that I can at least feel the pain...very seldom ask for anything with the exception of health and safety of loved ones, as if it's his will it will happen...

as I get older it seems I cry at the drop of a hat...I'm just so thankful and grateful for everything :-)

What a GREAT blog with such interesting comments! Good job, T!!

There's days when the only thing that gets me through is prayer...I do it all the time, often when I'm driving. Always before meals, no matter if it's private or public. I am so thankful for all the blessings God has heaped on me time and time again through my life.

Crying? Oh yeah....and you have seen me do it a few times, haven't you?

Miss you T!

I was raised on the same prayer

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep
I Pray The Lord My Soul To Keep
If I Should die Before I Wake
I Pray The Lord My Soul To Take
AMEN

I rarely comment on this section of the blogs for personal reasons but today, I feel compelled to do so.

God has touched my heart, my mind, my body and my soul and for that I, am eternally grateful. Do I feel worthy of his blessings? Hecky no! Why not, you ask? Because I have danced with the devil and each and every time I have asked God for forgiveness, he has been there for me. It's a constant struggle, this thing called life, but as long God sees fit that I breathe another day, I will let the world know that without him, I am nothing, but with him, I am everything! I praise him and I thank him for loving me the way he has. I praise him for not only teaching me how to love but also for how to give love for the sake of love. Something we desperately need more of today.

As for crying...oh yes, I most definitely cry. I cry at weddings, I cry at funerals, I cry at movies, I cry when I hear the National Anthem, I cry when I'm sad, I cry when I'm happy...oh yes, I cry alright but I'm an UGLY crier so you definitely DO NOT want to be around me to witness that emotion!

This is a good blog Mr_Wild...thank you and God Bless you and your family.
