Are we that hooked on our gadgets...??

12345.jpg pink cell phone image by sammie91-2007

How long could you go without your cell phone ?...... It totally amazes me that people would stand in line for days to get a new one..... I own a cell but to me it is just a phone...... I can dial out on it and if it rings I can answer it..... I can also leave it in the car or  forget it at home and not turn around and drive back to get it.......  We  never have to look too far to see someone talking on a cell..... Yesterday at the gym I observed a lady on the treadmill working out and talking on the cell phone....... Then at the pool one in three had their cells near and handy...... I know of a 16 year old girl that takes her phone in the shower with her in fear of missing a call..... How long could you go without yours ?......  If you were told to turn it off for a week would you go through withdrawals ?......  Do you panic if you have a low battery ? ..... If it rang during a movie would you answer it.....??

How bad are we hooked on our gadgets....??

My son and husband go into a panic mode at the thought of no cell phone!

The Cell Phone Companies have got everybody hooked on texting so now they are slowly increasing the prices to text..... Like a drug dealer..... Give it away until they are hooked and then make them pay.....

At the present time I do not have a cell phone. After yesterday talking with both Charter and AT&T and once I start back to work we will be getting rid of our landline and just use cell phones.

At the time of my accident I was glad that the people who stopped all had cell phones. Even I had a cell phone I took on rides before the accident until I dropped it down the stairwell at school. Needless to say the phone didn’t survive falling four floors hitting a concrete floor.

Will I get one of the iPhones? Heck no. Just want something to make calls. Don’t do texting or need to take pictures of people in the showers at Riverchase (I’m sure people want to see picts of old naked men).

I cannot function without my cell phone! I have too much stuff in it (backed up on net) and it's so convenient to have - it's my lifeline.

I had a long road trip a few weeks ago to Decatur IL and about 10 miles out of town realized I had forgotten my cell - I had to turn around and get it!

Hey, some people like puffing on a cigarette, some need their sodas, I NEED my cell. Oh BOOGEDY...where is it now....son of %$#^* it fell in my coffee! Holy *$@#!

J/K!

Mine has been laying on the front seat of the Mini van all night..... I suppose I will look at it sometime this morning and see if someone has tried to get ahold of me........ I'm an old stick in the mud..... I was one of the last ones to give up the beeper......

I a stay at home mom so I don't need a iphone. A plain old cell will do for me. I will turn around in the sub. if I forget it. Once I leave the sub. forget it.

I was dragged kicking and screaming into the 20th century about 2004, I could take them and computers or leave them, I know my mind set is still a century in arrears, but if hundreds of people standing in line for the newest toy is recession we are a bunch of whiney wimps.

i very seldom have mine on... most of the time i leave it at the shop, so i can make long distant calls to clients, cause i dont have long distance on my land line phone there cause kids like to use it to call long distance.. i do leave it on when i am outta town or i take it when i leave so i have it in case of emergencys... the kids in the shop are constantly on theirs and i feel like throwing them, when i am doing color on them and its constantlly ringing

I will confess, I keep mine in my pocket all the time except when we're in bed. It's my way to talk to my kids. We have mobile to mobile so that's great. I also keep in touch with my hubby during the day that way. We talk more on the phone to each other than in person. He works too much!
I always either turn my ringer off or leave it in the truck when we go somewhere....esp. the movies. I think that's just flat out rude to get or make calls in the show!
I think the whole texting thing is just plain stupid!

Truman and I have a Tracphone for emergency's only if we are in the car. He uses his to call me when he get's to work and when leaving work as the road's he take's to work scare's me silly.Mine I only turn on once in awhile. Now I did take it with me today as my phone has lot's more number's in it than Truman's. I don't have voice mail set up on them either. Everyone normal call's me on our home phone. I call the kid's as they can't live without their cell,I let it ring twice they call me back. It don't cost me long distance on the home phone and don't use the minute's on our trac. I use our phone's more today as everyone knew to call Truman's phone about our daughter who is sick and we had to go to Pacific for an appointmenty. I also used mine 3 time's today. Woot! Woot! I turn mine on about once a month. Truman's is on all the time. While back they stopped my servixce when I called them they said I needed an upgrade. I said why I never use the one I have plus I am use to it. I don't wanna spend money on a new one when the old one work's fine. They sent me a phone free. Had to go a week without it but I didn't need it anyway.I can go along time without it and if we forget his we don't turn around to get it either.
Now ask me about my computer. Heck no I can't go a day without it.

My phone is in my pocket right now. I think it is an old habit from my realtor days. Can't wait to meet you tomorrow. Hell, I'm just happy to get out of the house. LOL

My oldest daughter and all her friends just drive me crazy with their cell phones! All day long texting, exchanging ringtones, and endless nonsense. I wonder what poor old A.Bell would think?

In the last 4 years I keep mine with me at all times. The reason I do is because my daughter is in the military. I never know when she can call, especially now that she is deployed. For once I love calls at 3 am. lol

Never had a cell phone til last fall, finally broke down and got on for my horseshoeing business. Does come in handy for that and has saved a lot of miles by clients calling and being able to shoe one more horse on the way home and not having to back tract the next day. It has become a habit, but when i'm busy doing something else its on the shelf in the barn and i check the messages at nite when there's service. As far as being able to go without it again, i could, but take a little doing now. Good blog, folks i gotta run, have to work this weekend shoeing....seems everybody called the cell phone yesterday for today....LOL. MMMMMMMM what happen to appointments and planning ahead?

I work in the ER and the doctor at times is told to wait while the person is on a call.So you know how happy that makes him. We are communication junkies. I use mine to call home when I am out, but that test thing I cant get.
