LOS ANGELES (AP) — Woody Harrelson has been sued for $2.5 million by a paparazzo who accused the actor of assaulting him and breaking his video camera two years ago.

According to a lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Josh Levine was filming Harrelson in Hollywood late one night in June 2006. He alleges the Academy Award-nominated actor choked him, broke his video camera and ordered his bodyguard to attack him.

Levine's suit says he still has mental, physical and emotional pain from the encounter. He is also suing the unidentified bodyguard.

Harrelson's publicist could not immediately be reached for comment...........

Is he not the nice farm boy he sold to America.....??

Why  is the personal lives of the stars worth so much money..... Is our lives so pathetic that we pay money to see  pictures of theirs ?..... I just don't get it..... Who cares to see a video of Harrelson coming out of a bar...... I could care less if Brittany shaves her head......

I just don't understand it..... Do You...??

NO! I do not understand it either. I have NO interest in the lives of actors; or anyone else I do not personally know.

No, do not understand or get it why people PAY for useless information, gossip, etc., but if can hear it for free, somehow, it could be interesting-yeah, sometimes look at gossip columns...maybe deflects own personal concerns for awhile and utilized as a sort of temporary harmless "distraction" from some aspects of our own, (often boring), humdrum lives. (at least mine has been lately-LOL)

Getting rich off it is wrong. To get medical bills paid sure but 2.5 million. Come on?

Its a occupational hazzard that some people will react badly to having a camera in their face 24/7. Not everything is the publics business. Not every move they make must be photographed. And yes some will get mad.

They are vultures, and shouldnt be surprised when treated like one.

The Irony is if I followed him around I'd probably end up getting arrested for stalking..... Papporazi hound these actors with little reprocussion.... Look what happened to Princess Di.....
But we feed the fuel by making it big business for them.....

It's only news if someone is interested in hearing it.......

I agree mr_wildflower.

I can remember hearing my grandmother gossiping about Diana Ross and Michael Jackson when I was a little girl.

Whether is was my grandmother or a modern day teeny bopper down the street, we love to talk about celebrities. I definitely think it's an escape.

People with fame have to learn how to deal with the good and the bad. Paparazzi come with the job and always have. They enjoy their fame and it comes with a cost.

Harrelson was foolish for trying to take care of his situation the "street" way. I'm sure some of those guys are just waiting to make a celebrity mad enough to assault them...then their able to sue.
