Are you ready for a house guest...??

My son got the call late last that the Americorp's emergency response team that he is on will be heading south to assist with the tornado aftermath of  last night.... When I was a child a tornado took the roof off the house I was sleeping in....Ever since I have always tried to make sure that I do not live in flat lands..... Although no one is totally safe from a twister, they are more prone to gain strength and follow valleys and avoid hilly areas..... Unless you have actually been through a twister, it is hard to imagine how it can be so calm and quiet one moment and your house gone the very next..... We are guests on this  planet and should always have utmost respect for Mother Nature.......

Do you have a plan if needed....??

Although we don't habe a storm cellar there is a place in my basement that I would probably crawl in if we had a big storm around here.... It is like a mine shaft that goes under the front steps of my house..... Lots of concrete there so it would probably be the safest.... I live in a split level home.... Only room for a couple of folks so first come first serve....

those are pretty amazing videos....I then watched others on youtube...some interesting ones. Why do we find them so fascinating? The fear...the danger....the power? But we are fascinated by these death and destruction things!

Great videos. I am fascinated but I have healthy respect for tornado's. Hurricanes, you can see them coming but Tornados just POP UP. That one Tornado was really green from tearing up the ground. Also the wall clouds are something we should all pay attention to.

when we were lil, we woke one morning to our garage a 4th of a mile away in our neighbors pond, and the car was setting on the concrete slab, with one lil scratch on it..
