There is a Beast living in us all...!!

warrior.gif warrior image by AshleyFantazia

One of the things that fuels our soul and gives us meaning in life is competition and the thrill of victory..... We are all living with a built in competitive personality........ It starts on the playground and the level of playing and competition blossoms to more challenging and difficult games as we age...... Life itself is a game and those who are good at is will succeed..... There is competition in every factor of life and we all seem to find that one thing that we are competitive at..... There are unusual competitions and there are pro athletes that devote all of their life training to be the best...... But no matter the level the same beast lives in us all striving to be sitting on top of the heap when the last one is left standing.... There is also a dark side of this beast that surfaces often.... I see it most when I coach kids sports..... The dark side  often  comes out in the parents......  They forget who is really in competition...... Those who have the dark beast in them doesn't accept defeat easily and becomes a sore sport..... A good sport will congratulate winners and look to the future  to compete again..... So when your child takes to the fields, courts, plays sports or any competition, you must   always remember that it's just a game and it's actually fun unless someone belittles or makes a scene from the sidelines .....  There is nothing worse for the kids than to see a parent ejected from the stands..... I have seen it happen.....  Have a great season with your young and remember it is for them and not the parents..... So what are you competitive at....??

What brings out the beast in you...... ???

One of the reasons I got heavily (no pun intended) into weightlifting. I compete, and push, myself to new heights.

Awesome post!! Mr- wildflower, You allway find the freshest topics and represent them well, thank you! That is one of the reasons I am not the biggest team sports fan. Too many times the team members are competitve amoung them selves within the same team. I was in team sports as a youngster and had those experiances. I like extreme sports because its you chalenging your own abilities always expanding them. You are challenging the laws of physics. There is so much more comradery with the athletes in extreme sports its like an extended family. Example you can ride your bike or skateboard and se another doing the same. You usualy end up skating or bikingtogether having twice as much fun and they could be a complete stranger. Extreme sports and energetic music go hand in hand and have a unique connection. My 2 favorite thing wrapped into one! Does'nt get any better.
Nice helmet pic, one side of my family goes back all the way to the Vikings...

Pugman.... I had a 69 firebird that was the fastest thing that you could have ever wanted to drive..... My girlfriend back then told me she needed a couple extra pair of underwear when she went out riding with me....lol

I miss it but with todays gas prices I probably could do nothing but sit it in the driveway and look at it......

Mr wildflower, naw you just dust it off and go to the local car show every now and then.

As for the "Play Toy", 110 octane is not cheep but it will not run on anything less than 100 octane.

I guess it's true what they say about boys and their toys! LOL

MMMMM..what brings out the beast in me? Wow thats heavy. I'm not to competitive in sports or even in horse shows for that fact. Also preferred to do my own thing at home and enjoy it. BUT....the beast comes alive when people bash my work and i find out...especially if i don't even shoe for them. Also, i can bring the beast out in others by being quiet and the way i do things....the saddle i have, the horses, and just being me. And now and then a few beers brings that wild beast out in me and i want to dance with all the ladies at nite.
