I have heard many complaining that we blacks changed the out come of the presidential election. Lets look at some numbers for a bit.

The total population of the United States stands around 300,000,000. Blacks are 12.8% of this, or around 38,000,000. Figure 25,000,000 are of voting age, don't know if that is correct or not but bear with me here, I am a musician after all, not a math wiz. We will assume like the general population that 65% of us voted or 16,250,000. Now I will be generous and assume that 70% voted for Barack Obama. (I did not!)

That would be 11,375,000. Could that affect the out come? Darn tootin' it could. But it seems to me that Obama got a lot more votes than 11,375,000.

Somewhere near 60,000,000 Americans voted for him. I read that Hispanics voted heavily for him also. They make up 14.7% of our Population now, that is just the legal citizens that are Hispanic.

So, 48,625,000 non blacks voted for Barack Obama. Seems to me that all of them must share the blame for electing him, not just the black voters.

Now, this is just a guesstimate on my part. It probably holds no water. But, it was kind of fun!

By the way, I voted for Bob Barr!

Looks to me like the black population was excited by one of ours having a chance in hell of winning. Now, to me that is not a bad thing. A large group of people got excited with our system. How can that in itself be bad? Yours and my choice did not win. But that is the risk we take living here.

Take a moment and think about it. That is a great thing. Four years from now we will do it all over again and maybe your choice will win. Then, the other side will get to gripe again. It is called the cycles.

As I sit here and see Barack Obama declared as our next President, I must admit to mixed feelings. He was not my choice for President, but, I feel very proud of a black man being our President elect.

We have come a long way. When the majority of Americans can overlook the color of a mans skin and elect him as our President.

I do not know if he will be a good president, only time will tell. I will support him as our president, as I have all of our presidents. That is a soldiers duty, even if I am just a old retired warhorse.

Congrats, President Barack Obama. May you do good things and keep the BS to the minimum!

I read a funny quote today. It is from Henry Kissinger. Just had to pass it on.

"90% of politicians give 10% of us a bad name"

Saw it in Readers Digest. Gave me reason to keep my subscription going for another year!

1926MISS'S,

You mean to tell me that I was a slave? By you're count, being born in 1957 I would have been.

Blacks were freed in 1865, in case you have forgotten you're schooling. John McCains daddy owned blacks???? Man, he was an old fart. His pops was a honorable Admiral in the Navy, as was his grandpa.

Also, there were white slaves. They were called indentured servants. In case you do not know what that means. They were servants to rich folk or factories or what have you until they could buy their way out of servitude. Most could not, because they kept adding to what they would have to pay to do so.

Is there racism? Yup, sure is. But I would bet my last dollar that racists are not all that common. They just get the attention, because they look so dang foolish. And it is not just whites that are racist. It is blacks, asians, whites, arabs and Native Americans, who actually have a good reason to be.

I just can not think of anything else to say here. I am still laughing to hard!

I believe in our country. Our system works well.

But, I am about fed up with all this election crud. We seem to be at each others throats.

Conservative, liberal, libertarian, communist or what have you. I personally do not give a damn what you are. Why so hateful? Why the accusations? Can we not at least be civil in our debates.

If not, we are not what we claim to be. Brothers and sisters in the great experiment.

Sure, debate all you want. But please, do it in the spirit of the United States. For all of our sakes.

If you printed out all the lies and BS the wannabe presidents are feeding us.

How far would they reach?

To the moon Alice, to the moon!

I will be the first to admit, I am proud that a black man has been nominated to be president. Why not. He looks something like me.

But. Is he the right black man to be the first?

Is not General Colin Powell a better choice?

A man of integrity. A honest man, whom defended our country.

If Colin Powell would have run, How many of you would have voted for this great man?

No special reason.

But to all my fellow vets and those still serving.

A big ole ham fisted salute to you my brothers and sisters in arms.

We may have our differences but our bond is stronger than all.

Except maybe you intelligence types. Sorry Bill, could not help myself!

Watching the news today and this struck me.

McCain and Obama, one will be President, I know, DUH Tom!

But man, we had a chance to have two good candidates and we are stuck with these two. A old fart and a poser.

We could of had a good race between Mitt Romney and Bill Richardson, two highly qualified men.

Okay now. My question to all.

Who would you have liked to see as your parties candidate?

I have been reading about how the USA is going down.

I disagree. Yeah, there is a lot of crud going on. Bad news every day.

But, what is good about  the USA? We can blog about the bad, freely. We can express our opinions freely, and not go to jail or have our heads chopped off. So what is there to really gripe about.

Have you been stifled today? Can you not say our prez is an idiot? Can you not say our two main candidates are idiots?

So, if not, what is so bad? We live in the most open society on the face of the Earth.

If it is so bad, why don't you get the hell out?

This is the best place on Gods green Earth to live. If it seems so wrong to you, go live in Russia or China. In two seconds you would beg to come back to the good old US of A.

Any takers? I got 20 dollars on it!

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

I was wondering what all of you think of this quote by Thomas Jefferson.

Was he right on or full of it.

Me, I think he was right on the money!

Looked this up for some reason. Turns out it might not be a quote of Jeffersons. Historians are up in the air about it. Although to me it sounds like something he might have said.

So, you have a problem with Obama, the "black Muslim".

What is wrong with being Islamic? Or is it he is a "Black Muslim"?

From what I know of this person, he is a purported Christian.

Why are you putting down Muslims by saying he is one of them?

Just so you know, when I was fighting for our country I was a "Black Muslim".

And in case you can not tell, my tounge is firmly in cheek!!!!

A super delegate from California is willing to sell his vote for 20 million!

To register Mexican American voters!

I can not express my disdain for this. Fox would defintely ban me for way to much cursing.

Okay Bubba, you got me. Guess I am no longer a Democrat.
