Tom Franklin's Blog

Watching the news today and this struck me.

McCain and Obama, one will be President, I know, DUH Tom!

But man, we had a chance to have two good candidates and we are stuck with these two. A old fart and a poser.

We could of had a good race between Mitt Romney and Bill Richardson, two highly qualified men.

Okay now. My question to all.

Who would you have liked to see as your parties candidate?

Since I cannot really have who I really want, I would like to bring Jesse Helms back to life and President of the USA.

Yeah, I know what you mean bubba. If it was up to me I would dig up Ronald Reagan or JFK. We sure got some crappy choices do we not.

I would like to see Colin Powell and Norman Schwartzkopf. I do not believe we would hear from the terrorist if we had these two as Pres and VP.

Can't argue with you there SC. The bad thing about Generals as president they have a very narrow view of things. No shades of gray.
Now, both of them would make great Secrataries of Defense.
Nuclear Newt? Hmmm. That one I would have to think about.
And Hillary would be a better choice than Barack. Though that is not saying much.

I agree with Mech...or Tom...whichever...I'll always call you Chief....I'd dig up Reagan and stick him back in there. We'd be a helluva lot better off right now. As for now, I'm kinda liking what Ron Paul has to offer. A bit of both worlds to play with.

I answer to almost anything bill. But am honored to answer to Chief.
When I attained that rank, my Aircraft commander had a ceremony for me. I was presented a Chiefs War Bonnet. I was a sight, a black man wearing a Apche chiefs headdress.

Mitt Romney or Bill Richardson. I think either one would have been a really good president. I don't care for either one that is running now.

Obama, sounds good, but according to his voting record, he will raise taxes. He really has never said what he could do to straighten this mess out. I don't think that his wife will be very good at being first lady.

Mccain has been in the Senate for a long time and look what a mess we are in. I don't think he will be able to do anything.

You got it AMOM! I could have gotten behind either one of them. Look what we have now.
I say vote for Snoopy! Or even freedom Free!
Better than these two fools.

I second Ron Paul. Can't stand Romney. I hope McCain doesn't pick him as a running mate.

I agree with you on Ron Paul. But seriously, how much of a chance does he have. I mean, while the others are busy with real campaign work, attacking each other over the small things. You know, he is to old, he is to black. The liberals caused the high gas prices, no the conservatives did. I am for war, I am against war. The economy stinks, no it is okay!!!!
Mean while, Ron Paul, the man with two first names only talks about real issues that affect us all. How dare he not join in on character assasination! Who does he think he is talking to the citizens like they know anything! WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS!!!! He ain't a real candidate!

Ahhh, another dreamer heard from. I agree with you also bud. Alas, I am afraid we both are just dreamers. All any of them want is the power. Who gives a flying fig about the normal everyday worker, that is struggling to keep food on the table.
Oh yeah, we are screwed again. The democlins and the republocrats are exactly the same, with slightly different talking points. Neither party says a dang thing worthwhile, meanwhile, the ones that do can only get time on NPR.

My first comment.

I vote for none of the above.

I can see your point. I would like to see the federal government go back to what it wass supposed to be. A collective bargaining agent that supported the militia. Beuracracys quickly become bloated on their own self importance.
