The police have taken at least 5 cars from me personally, the last because I had the wrong plates on the car (used to be a ticket and fine).  They enjoy doing it because the nice Lt. Sounders (if I remeber his name right) served me with a smile, as did the speedy tow truck driver who physically took my car.  It seemed that it was a game or funny to them.  I gave them my car key and told them to have a nice day because I knew there was nothing I could do about it.  I did think it was weird that it a City that had just been declared the Most Dangerous In the Nation, a Liutenent of the Police Force was riding around getting cars towed and not tracking down MURDERS!   I saw him for weeks after that prowling my neighborhood and snatching peoples cars for whatever minor or major things their cars did.  I just wanted to know how can two people smile at a person while they are taking his way of getting back and forth to work that he paid for even after realizing he'd been taken by ERVINS AUTO SALES on MORGANFORD.  I couldn't get it registered because it wouldn't pass emissions or safety but I had insurance (they don't care if it's registered).  I just hope he was a friend or crony of the Chief (I really, really liked him) and can laugh at his "misfortune" as he did mine.

Driving a car that will not pass safety inspection is only endangering others. You should of bought a car that would pass emissions and safety inspection or gotten it fixed before driving on the road. Wrong plates on the car???? I do believe you had 30 days to get the plates changed over from one car to the other. 5 cars towed from you personally. Gee I have been driving for over 35 years, I have followed the rules with every car I have purchased and not once have I had a car towed. Follow the rules and it won't happen anymore to you.

Marshal Law?

Do we, the public, need Marshal Law?
Lets get real, shure there are a lot of things, this person did, that were wrong. But, does that make, the police, any less criminal, for taking this persons property, when only tickets and fines were warranted?
Last I checked, the police, are supposed to be Civil Servants. "To Serve And Protect" the public. Not, service and protect themselves, not their own police family!
It appears, the police today, are just as criminal, as the police, of the Al Capone days.
From The Chief of police, down through the ranks. This doesn't mean, all police officers are corrupt, there are too many, bad apples in the barrel.
Now, we the public, don't have much trust, in these, SO CALL Civil Servants.

The real story is making sure the police obey the rules also, this came to light about the chiefs daughter and it would not be fair to the public if werent investigated fully.I believe that it is possible the chief was unaware of his daughters abuse in the system, whatever, remember even though this was his daughter didnt mean that he himself was doing the crime.I know there are many good cops and many bad ones also.....so lets just HOPE that when we need one (a good one responds)hahaha...

I know what I was doing was wrong, and that's why I didn't get mad about any of the cars being taken because for some reason or another I couldn't get them registered, so lets call it what it is-the Police are not different from me only difference is that when they can't register a vehicle another cops not going to take it. I used to live a very different life before I opened my eyes and I've seen the worst of the Police Dept. They are a self serving GANG with the power, I just stay on the side of a HIGHER POWER now.

P.S. I am by far a cop hater because I live where you people watch the news stories about. I have to call them frequently. I try to help them when I see things wrong and it doesn't matter if you want to change your life, the POLICE are in BUSINESS to make money. Nobodies doing it for the love of my community. I wave at the POLICE as I cut my grass and you would think I give them the finger. They want an adversarial relationship with people in my neighborhood. But I do still believe in the idea of what they are supposed to be and when I see them do something good I call their Commanders and give them praise. I just think when you let your department act without rules it will come back and bite the most visible scapegoat. I personally LOVED Mokwa-he had class and didn't have that fake fear of black folks.

It's hard not the hate cops and all other government officials.

All cops break the law, just by twisting it when it come to their friends or relatives they what to help by not giving tickets or arresting them when they should. Same for the all government officials. We (the tax payers)are paying to get screwed by them all the time.

Yes, I mean all officers. I wouldn't call 911 for anything.

Oh Kaddas, I really was stressing who towed my car buddy and you are right--oh except for my 95 Chevolet Caprice that the Beverly Hills Police pulled me over for saying it was stolen. This was a pleasant surprise to my finance company. This car was very legal and you know what-after taking me to the station for "stealing" my own car, the nice officer uncuffed me and pushed me out a side door--nothing written, nothing explained, nothing filed. I never saw the car again--I like to think they stripped it and parted it out like on the movies but I know one of their cronies or relatives is driving it.

Somehow, I'd be willing to bet that we didn't hear the entire truthful story in the original blog.

I suspect that it went something like: 1. Driving around with someone else's plate on the car; 2. No bill of sale, title, or proof of ownership.

In such instances the police have every right to impound the vehicle until such time as the owner can show up at the tow lot with valid proof of ownership.

chickenlicker I don't lie I have nothing to gain from it. Funny thing is I had all that stuff, and I actually paid off the car as it sat in my backyard because after the first oilchange the car had massive mechanical problems that the dealer put something in to hide. I couldn't afford to get it fixed and pay the car note. So I paid the car note. Actually if you want to know the whole truth I had two different plates on the car, 1 mine the other my ex's. Turns up she had tickets on her car and since the plates were on my car they became my tickets--even though I didn't get them. That's what the car was actually towed for--the tickets. When I asked how can that be legal the clerk downtown said how is putting someone elses plates on your car legal--she was right but I remember when you got a ticket for inproper plates not someone elses tickets. I just thought it was funny that the plate he went for was the bad one after running both--it was about the money and don't get me wrong I am no a victim I was just bothered by their smiles.

Hopefully, the FBI and the US Attorney's Office will get to the bottom of this!!
