Anyone know of highway 44 closings Rolla to Saint Louis?  I've looked on the MO DOT website and they are not reporting any but I'm not sure how up to date they are..

Any spots to watch out for?

There are a lot of college kids (mine included) out at Rolla that want to get home for Easter.

My daughter cannot leave school til tomorrow and I'm wondering if she's even going to be able to get home..

Any alternate routes we might want to consider?

Hopefully I'm worrying for no reason, but the kids are starting to stress out there thinking they won't be able to get home.

FYI I just heard from my husband who was driving to the ozarks... We always take 44/St. James... We was headed to HWY 63 and stopped. Apparently parts of 63 and I think 68 are closed. He was forced to turn around and go back to HWY 50 in Union..... He told me that he has heard the the Gasconade River and the surrounding Large Creeks are flooding..... So I would hope that the Rolla students would be able to leave early to head NORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a lot of them can't leave til after classes today...I know 44 is closed right past Rolla (heading West) in Phelps County..

here in Fenton, 141 is under water about 7' or so at 44. They think that Hwy 44 might flood as well..

My son is working in Rolla. Talked to him yesterday. I told him that he might not be able to get home this week-end. Because they had HWY 44 closed down, somewhere around Rolla. He said, he drove to Cuba, and didn't have any trouble. So, maybe it is on the other side of Rolla. So, I don't think they will have any trouble getting home this week-end. Unless, they shut down 44 and 141?

I live in Rolla and I-44 was closed West of Rolla last night and this morning but has reopened. This would not effect anyone going to St Louis until you get to the Valley Park exit and of course 141 is closed.

Thanks guys!

has the river crested out there? It will crest farther out before cresting here in ST. Louis, right?

If they have to close 44 at 141, I can get her around that.

You know that another idea would be to go through columbia.... that way there would be no risk at all.....

I hope all of your kids get home safe but if they cant have them stay put not worth risking it

kmckenzie-

53 (I'm pretty sure thats the name of the small highway that runs Rolla to Columbia) is already closed, or at least was yesterday due to flooding.

Hwy 63 n, just past Hwy 28 is closed. Also hwy 42 going to Vienna from the Belle area is closed, hwy 89 going to Rich Fountain from Belle is closed, Hwy 63 just South of Westphalia is closed. Can't get to Jefferson City. Even part of Hwy 50 is closed

Okay, she's safe here at home now. Took quite a while in traffic, 2 hours in traffic from Eureka to right past 141...but that was to be expected. Thanks for the tips.
