Well skip is finally in jail . This time it is for domestic assault  on his wife.

Apparently Milton " Skip " Ohlsen was arrested in Vinita Park over the weekend. He was subsequently turned over to St. Louis county .

I have heard his bond reduction was denied.

Ladies and gentleman you can't make this kind of stuff up . I have posted on this subject in the past only to have my blogs removed. this time I can substanciate the story . Is this a "news" station blog? I thought it was , this is news so why nuke my posts? I realise there are terms of service , however, is free speech not guaranteed under the first amendment of the constitution of the united states? Or is  Fox above the constitution and the rights that  it affords each and every citizen of this country.  Do you censor your own staff and the stories that you report ? This would result in lopsided and unbalanced news . Last  I heard Fox news claims "Fair and Balanced" news. So which one is it? You can't have it both ways.

Amazingly ironic this statement is .I grew up in a region of upstate New York known as the Catskill Mountains . A couple of weeks ago I made a road trip to the foot hills of the appalacians to attend a small get together of other radio" enthusiast" , and the part of the country I was in was very reminicent ot the region that I grew up in . Inafact it made me miss my old jaunt quite a bit. It is such beautyfull country up there.Yes at 42 years old I still get home sick from time to time , especially when I am traveling on  twisty turney roads thru the hills. Well this got me wondering what was new in my old part of the country since my last visit up there last summer . Needless to say my curiosity got the best of me so surfing the net i went , gotta love google. Last summer the region was devistated by what they call a hundred year flood , was something like 14 inches of rain in a period of 3 days that caused the banks of  most of the rivers and streams to overflow their banks , washing away roads and bridges as well as a few entire towns. My old town being one of them. I was wondering if I could find any information as to how the rebuilding of my former little hammlet of Roscoe was proceeding . Now mind you this is a very small village nesteled in the Catskills  a land of pristeine rivers and mountains that has been very well preserved over the centurys . I was appauled at what I found in my search for information on my little village. Come to find out  that 100year flood thing is a load of doo doo , thats right it happened again!!!almost a year to the day. The flooding was not as wide spread as it was a year ago, However something about 8 inches of rain in 2 hours and all the runoff into the beaverkill river was just too much for the banks to contain . I have rode my bicycle  on Cat Hollow Road as a child  going to a swimming hole in this very river.Colchester is part of the village of Rockland as is Roscoe

  Thru the static , in the outter limits of the 40 meter ham band , is that a signal? Could it possiably be ? After some intencive tuning .Yes it is, i think , a candestine radio station. A modern day pirate , The intreauge , who are they where are they from , what the heck are they talking about . The topic is offf the grid !!! You can't say that on the radio, but they just did !!!

  That was 12 years ago , man did it facinate me . I had a just purchased my first shortwave radio at a hamfest  . A few months prior I had inadvertantly managed to accidentaly get a standard AM , FM stereo receiver to receive  a segment of the 31 meter band in AM mode. It was quite the phenomonum .What i was attempting to do was DX the AM broadcast band by stringing up about 500ft of wire in a grid on the ceiling of my back room, Well i had inadvertantly  caused the front end of the reveiceer to become resonant in a section of the 31m band and could hear stations from around the world all the sudden on a standard receiver . The mysteries of radio were facinating ,  they always have been to me since i was a very young child growing up in upstate New York DXing am broadcast band stations.

  I Had worked at a small 10 watt AM campus radio station in upstate NY when i was a kid, but beleive me i had never dreamed it would become  what it evetually did . From being a 8 yr old kid DXing WABC from NYC late at night with a small transistor radio , to becoming a seasoned veteran of clandestine programing . Well here i sit typing a blog about it some 26 programs and many years later .

  With the avent of being introduced to the internet , the world became a much smaller place. The information that can be aquired out here is simply mind boggeling.I had stumbled across a radio station some years back , WBCQ , well the aformentioned station , turns out was owned my a gentelman who had benn probably the most infamouse Pirate Radio operater in history , He had built many illegal stations over the years some land based and some sea based , yes i said sea based ,see the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_Weiner .

  Thru the internet over the years I have befriended many clandestine radio operaters . We have exchanged programing content and concepts , now i do not advise anyone to broadcast illegaly , you can and most likely eventually get caught . However I have  met people who have been doing it for 30 - 40 years . Like the infamouse Dave Rabbit http://www.ibiblio.org/jwsnyder/rft/rft.html Dave has recently resurfaced and has been active with the troops in Iraq via shortwave and podcast  there are downloads  available of his programing past and present  . I kind of got off on a tangent there didn't I ..??

  My wife Stacy was diagnosed with lung cancer about 2 years ago, she incidently hated my radio hobby . I had met some of my as she called them " imaginary radio friends " prior to her loosing her battle with cancer about 2 years ago . Well around the beiging of october 2 years ago while listening to my radio thru the static was a very short transmision that  said in a high pitched , almost like mickey mouse, I heard " Tune in on halloween for the kracker radio show" . I was dismayed , I had discussed possiably producing a show for the air , I guess one of my "imaginary friends " took it to heart .. !! I found out who it was and contacted him asking ,"what the heck are you doing to me man" . He replied " just do a show and send it to me , I will put it on the air". Well now I had to do a show or loose face in the community . So decided to do it !! Well needless to say I received reception reports from all over the US and Canada , man what a rush that was . I was transformed from the guy listening to the guy being listened to ... I had been bitten by the bug . That was 25 shows ago .

  I have taken the liberty of archiving an assortment of programs that have been submitted to me from other pirates . Most are studio quality 128 kps 44khz stereo . my blogging skills stink ok so take it easy on me. do not look for accurate spelling or punctuation . i am best suited in the outerlimits of the radio dial , for i am just a radio who spews random thaughts across the spectrum. nothing fancy here just truth and hostility towards folks who do not hold an open mind. i have had many friends over the years , some have died some have denied , but thats cool . think about this, if we all were into the same thing wouldn't it be a boring place to live as elements?

we are all just carbon form based elements , don't ever forget that . to spend the time we think we have on this sphere as we see fit . yet  it is an element based sphere, coincidence? i tend to think not .

I enjoy my time in the ionosphere feel free to join me in my endevour .
