Well it's been sometime since I've written a blog.  Life get's really busy.  I think the first time I wrote a blog.  My little boy was in the hospital.  I can't belive it has almost been a year since I started blogging here with Fox 2.  I've met a lot of great people.  I'm asking a huge favor from my friends at Fox 2, Zak is going in the Hospital May 5th to possibly get decanulated - take his trach out.  If everyone would be thinking of him that would be wonderful.  It has been 19 months since the trach was put in place.  Zak is very high spirited and loves life.  He is a great 3 year old.  This is the best news that our family has received in over a year.  Just the fact that they are going to try is awesome.  Anyway, I guess that I'm just asking that everyone start thinking of him.

Zak and our family would gladly accept any prayers you would like to send our way. Because you know when 2 or more pray in his name...

She had 6,  my little puppy that is.  Zoe is chihuahua and has been in our family since birth. She is now 3 years old.  Her puppies are so darn cute.  My little Zoe had puppies about 3 weeks ago.  I'm a grandma at the age of 32.  They are so very sweet.  I have to say it is very neat to see how self sufficiant dogs, all animals I guess, are when it comes to birthing.  It is amazing.  No drugs, to doctor bills, not even in a hospital.  Right there in her little bed.  The Puppies and Mommy are doing great.  They have all opened their little eyes, that took about 12 days.  I guess they use their sense of smell for the first couple of weeks.  Even right now their eyes still look a little glazed over.  It will be hard to believe, but in a week they will be walking and playing and trying to eat real puppy food.  Amazing how much faster it is for puppies.  Zoe was only pregnant for 64 days, compared to our 9 long months.  I hope everyone enjoys the pics.

Went to the Card/Cub game this evening.  And even though we lost I had an absolute blast.  My Daddy gave my sister and I tickets to go.  Every year my dad, being the cool guy he is, tries to send all of his 4 girls to a Cards game.  This year my middle sister and I were fortunate enough to see a Card vs. Cub game.  What fun it was.  The two of us met at our families usually meeting place and traveled down 44.  Then Alycia said where do go now?  I don't know I said we will figure it out when we get there.  With 20 minutes before game time we are parked and walking in.  It is so great to see so many people having a good time.  From little bitty 2 year olds to the older gentleman sitting next to us who told me about his 4 wonderful grandchildren.  We have a blast every year we go.  This year I, who am 32 now, got carded twice, twice.  I was so excited.

I got to see Jack Buck's replay of Take me out to the ballgame, got to yell Let's go Cardinals Let's go.  And an almost homerun in the bottom of the ninth that would have pulled out on top.  And had an all around good time.  On our way back home we had to keep Daddy's tradition and stop in at Denny's for a bite to eat and just to talk.

I'm just now getting back in.  Does anyone else have a tradition that they like to keep?  I know ours has been going on since I was a teen.  And I hope to keep doing with my children and grandchildren.

I'm new at all this blogging but am really enjoying being able to write down my feelings and thoughts about everything in life.  I love being able to read other peoples blogs as well.  Just like the other day when I read a blog, it really got me thinking about friends.  I have a lot of "friends".  Friends I went to school with, friends who have kids the same age as mine.  Friends you tell a lot to and then One Friend you tell it all to!  It seems that most people have that One friend, I thought I found mine just over 5 years ago.  Is it true what they say?  Friendship  comes and goes or do you all ways keep the ONE really good friend?????  You know the ONE I'm talking about.  The ONE that knows every little last detail about you.  The one that knows what your thinking with out you saying a word!!!

How much do you love your pet?  Our family found out the hard way this past week.  We have had Barley for 5 1/2 years, she was only 5 weeks old when we brought her home.  It was a surprise for my 3 year old.  I remember how my son used to carry her around where ever he would go.  We have a Little Tikes truck (kinda like the coupe).  Austin would put Barley in the back of the truck and get in and drive around with her.  When Barley jumped out he would stop and put her back in.  So darn cute!!  Anyway, throughout the years Barley has become a great family pet.  She would always let me know when someone was coming up the drive and she would follow the kids around and keep them safe.  I could simply say where's Austin and he run to him.  We lost Barley on the Fourth of July.  She got scared to death.  Our Family is so lost with out her.  On Wednesday, we left for Farmington around 5:00pm and I put Barley up in the dog run.  She had plenty of water, food, shade and she had her igloo dog house to hide out in.  When we got home that evening around 11:30pm we did not hear a peep out of her.  The next morning not a peep.  Barley had been scared to death by the fireworks.  We loved her so much,  it has been hard to walk out and not see her or to drive up the hill and not see her there to welcome us.  I'm laying on the couch, looking out the back sliding glass door expecting to see my Barley and she is not there.  I have and empty spot in my heart and miss her so much.

I would love to hear about your special pet and how he or she has made a difference in your life?

Like I said in my Bio, I have 4 wonderful children.  The youngest one is a beautiful little boy who loves life.  Little Zak, has had a rough 2 1/2 years, but really doesn't know any different.  Since the day he was born he has been in and out the hospital.  So here I am sitting in a recliner in a hospital room looking at my 2 year old sleeping with all kinds of tubes hooked to him.  As I look at him it makes me think, Why does he keep going, what makes him so resilant.  Just to give you the quick version of Zak's life.  When he was born he was sent to the NICU for reflux, where he stayed for 2 weeks, he returned to the hospital at 7 weeks with that horrible virus RSV, only to aspirate from his reflux, which caused to have siezures and pnemonia.  After that 3 week stay we came back when he was 4 months old for a surgery. The next months go by quickly,  at home he is receiving physical, occupational and speech thearpy along with monthly visits from a nurse and a nutritionist.  So now 2 years later we have been admitted to the hospital at least a dozen times.  He has had 4 major surgeries and several scopes.  He has a feeding tube and a trach,  and if you looked at him you would be astonished at how happy he is.

Just like any2 year old Zak loves to play, laugh, eat,  and run.  You can get him to smile so easy and he is very outgoing.  All of the nurses here just love him.  So it just goes to show that even though  Zak has been handed a difficult hand, he plays it very well.  I just wish I knew what he was thinking.   If he thinks all of this is normal.  I guess from his eyes he doen't know any better and still just loves life.

I'm a Mom of 4 and have a crazy life style. But don't we all. My children are 2, 4, 6, and 8. They seem to always keep my husband and I on our toes. I've been referenced to as the social little butterfly. I love to shop the last fashions and enjoy the outdoors. My husband and I have been together for 12 years, we love to camp, go biking and doing things with our family. My best friend and I have a business that we love and work very hard at. I love meeting new faces and making new friends. I'm a great listener and love to be listened to.
