Right on!! This is a smart political move by the Republicans. It is time to expose the Dem's tactics.

Great, hope it works and could we also drill a hole into the heads of Democrats and try and figure out what the f&*( is in there?

So, if the bill needs a presidential signature every year to be extended, and the house and senate were republican controlled for most of his administration, how come this hasn't expired? It says in this article he needs to sign the bill that extends the ban. So, why did he sign it these past years?

It is always put in an appropriations bill that if not signed by the president would shut down the government. You know how the repubs get blamed for that little acttion. It may be put in a tax cut bill that the pres. needs for the good of the economy. The beauty of this time is that the dems will have the complete blame for not drilling which should have been the case all along.

It is time that the Republicans take a strong stand, they have been MIA recently.

I doubt George has the gonads for it. Or McCain for that matter. Running in the middle don't get it for Repubs. If we win it is with the common sense wing of the party. Those who think drilling where the oil is might be better than drilling where it ain't.

I certainly like the approach, but kdubken, I'm with you wondering if Bush or McCain have the cajones to call the Dems on this issue.

Failure to do so however is a formula for disasterous consequences to our economy and way of life.

You are correct chickenkiller. Republicans and Democratics alike win elections by presenting strong conservative views. We punished the republican party in the last election because they were big spenders. We elected people like McCaskill who are bigger spenders. The economy is where it is because of a Democratic controlled congress. McCain's strong suits are reduced spending, tax cuts, winning the war, oil drilling and pro-life stance. Of all the issues, I think oil drilling and pro-life will produce the most votes.

The Repub's need to follow the Reagan model. Stand on your convictions. Reagan went on to win 2 elections.

Reagan really had it easy compared to today's politics. Never has the press had the power it has today. You have people who believe the Bush years were recession years. The reality is that the Bush years produced the greatest economic recovery and growth in US history. You have a whole race of people who think they are discriminated against when it is their own culture that holds them back. You have a candidate who thinks it is OK to loose a war and followers who agree with that nonsense. The sad part is that they got this erroronious information from the news.
