The house version of The Protect America Act, passed by Senate,is called [Foriegn Intelligence Surveillance Act} ------ Why not call it what it is? The Do Not protect America act. or Do not Protect Patriotic Americans Act. I have no idea why.--------

I only question why she wants to tie the hands of the military in the war on terror. Why have the democratics leaders taken the side of terrorists? Ms Pelosi is speaker of the house for crying out loud. This attack on the military during time of war surely does not reflect the wishes of rank and file democrats.

Shall I get my violin and some cheese to go along with your whining? I believe everyone wants this war over. Theres no exit strategy nor true success to it. Pelosi realizes this too. Its not a matter of republican vs democrat rather their brains agreeing finally to leave Iraq. We are no safer than before March 2003 maybe even less safe. We now appear to be bullies and the other nations notice this. Why is it that we are the only ones in this war now? Ok, France has 2 troops! Its time to come home and start spending money in the states to clean up our current mess.

You have got to be out of your mind biker this is not about only the war in Iraq. This is about keeping track of terrorists all over the world. What should we have done after 911--nothing? If you are not one of those crazy people who say 911 was Bushs'fault, you must have noticed there hasn't been another attack and others have been stopped. Wake up. There is only one issue here and that is trial lawyer money. To hell with protecting the country as long as the democratic party gets campaign funds from the ambulance chasers

The government as a whole is at fault for 911. As for being "one of those crazy people who say 911 was Bush's fault"...no. Are you one of those crazy people that say 911 was Clinton's fault? We are playing the reactive game and until we become proactive nothing will change. The Iraq War is doing nothing for our freedom. Brother you're one of the anti democrats I can tell it's all their fault. I am republican and getting tired of all the rhetoric.

I am an American that is tired of all the lies and rhetoric. We need to take care of our own people first.

To Kdubken Since before the mid term elections it has been like this and worse since. Bills sent years ago went nowhere. We both debated the same side about this bill before and know what is going on. I have always dreamed of a more conservative third party that could win, and shake their butts up. Then when they do agree and pass something these jerks add so much crap to it. Both Parties look bad but I will always vote republican till the third party emerges. Thought for the day: Young republicans say Join us now or work for us later.

Thanks bubba---You and I can do nothing else. It still gripes my ass when Americans repeat propaganda put out by our enemies, blame The USA for everything bad in the screwed up rest of the world, and then claim to love this country. If the democratic party had taken this kind of stand during WWII they would have had to escape from concentration camps to vote.

Take care of our own people? What else can you possibly think of to spend money on? The democratic party has promised everything but the moon. Biker . if you are tired of the lies quit repeating them and think a little bit about what you just said. It could have come from the mouth of Osama Bin Lauten himself.

Biker2max - We are being PROACTIVE! We're killing them over in Iraq and Afghanastan which IMHO is a far better choice than on the streets of New Jersey, Lackawana or Detroit.

Frankly, I could give a FRA that we "appear as bullies to the rest of the world." We have to live here, they don't.

Chicken: I agree...we just need to remove Iraq, Iran, and Afghanastan off the map. This should take less than the five years we've already been over there.

Kdubken: So do you still believe there are WMD in Iraq? I am finding some humor in all the know-it-alls on the war. I believe it's obvious none of us really wants to be over there and most of us just want it to end.

Yeah, pulling the troops tomorrow won't work but leaving them another 5 years would be failure. So, with your 70 years of brain power and vast knowledge of the political machine, call the White House and give Dubya some pointers!

Speedy - It could have been accomplished already had we not been straddled with an attorney for every soldier and the obscene rules of engagement that our men and women are saddled with over there. Political correctness has caused needless lives and prolonged the war.

Well let's see....WWII, we're still in Japan and Germany. Korea, yep, we're still there. Bosnia, yep we're there too. I wouldn't get too impatient yet. After all, we've spent less time in Iraq than Hillary spent finding the Rose Law Firm billing records.

WMD's - Who knows? We certainly not been able to gather up all the munitions that are being turned into IEDs and with all the stinking desert, who knows what else is buried. It would however appear that there are none thus far.

No I don't think there were WMDs. I know this too. Sadam Housain is DEAD. If he were ALIVE he would have them by now.

People don't stop to think where we would be if we hadn't gone into Iraq. This is not about Iraq by itself. This is about SURVEILLANCE OF TERRORISTS. It is also about AMERICANS WHO CARRY WATER FOR THE ENEMY

kdubken you are right - the problem here is most of the people that make these comments have never been out of the United States and do not have a clue as to what really goes on in a foreign country. My comment is if there was NO WMD how did Sadam kill all of people he did with chemicals????? Why did he not let in the NATO committee to check????? Why did all of the intelligence personnel tell the President they were there???? Why was there mass movement to Iran??? If you have nothing to hide - you let the NATO inspectors in to inspect - if you have something to hide you put them on hold until you can get them moves. I would not say there were NO WMD just because we could not find them - look how long it took us to find him - in the hole. The biggest problem is our military's hands are tied by being politically correct - I say turn them loose and let them do what they do best. And yes I do believe if we had not stood up to Sadam we would have been hit more by the terrorist since 911.

hello, have you all got brain farts? Saadam didn't have anything to do with 911, osama bin laden, So tell me again, why are we in Iraq and not Saudi Arabia. Saadam helped keep out the riff raff, he was all about the money and the power trip for himself to enjoy. If you didn't agree with him there, was hell to pay. Again not any of our bussiness, WE ARE NOT THE WORLD POLICE!!!! and the majority actually agree's or BUSH"S ratings wouldn't be so low. So you Republicans who vote republican just for the word are the minority at this point in time. WE'll see the actual results in NOvember

And for the 70 year old, your not even in the work force that is going to have to pay for this war and all of bush's other mistakes. I am so happy that you feel safe for the next few years, while the rest of us are working are butts off to pay for your last few years of safety.

Sadam Husain was a state sponser of terror. He had programs to aquire WMDs.He was in violation of humpteen UN resolutions and violation of peace treaty with US. It is one hell of a jump "from there is no evidence of a connection to 911" to he had nothing to do with it. He sure as hell celibrated911. He made known that he approved of 911.He was trying to buy ingredients to make a nuke.Sence he was stealing oil for food money to finance his nuke program he would have one by now. Bush made him dead so no worries.

rhrealstate do you remember anything about WWII? When you sit back on your rump and do nothing - guess what happens. Gas Chambers, take over of countries and all the while listening to a man with a silver tongue - guess what - that can happen here in America. Your cracks about the government and the position we are in - well with the new delegates there is already corruption going on before they get in - look at Obama's record - Slum Lord, Chicago politics, his preacher's racist remarks, his voting record, and yet no one comes down hard on him - the new media is pushing for him - only to have McCain beat him - you are what you hang with and you know it. Hillary is a woman and won't get in period unless she takes Obama to task.
