People bad mouth me a lot for saying the democratics aren't patriotic. I am also badmouthed for saying the democratic party change sides after they agree to military action ie. the war in Iraq and Viet Nam. I know that most rank and file democratics are good patriotic people. The national leaders. whom you elect however, are the most despicable provaricateing propaganda experts in the world.

Here is an example of how they work. Nancy Palosi dem. speaker of the house is blocking The Protect America Act  from a vote in the house. The bill has a large majority in the house who will pass it. It passed the senate by a super majority 69 to 28.

For 1/2 a month now the house has  vacationed and named renamed a few  post offices and back to vacation while the protect America act hangs in limbo.

The protect America act is needed so this country can monitor comunications between terrorists overseas. Palosi and the democratic left wing don't want it because it will prohibit trial lawyers from sueing telecom companies who help keep America safe.

Palosi would rather line the pockets of trial lawyers than protect America.

Whose side is she on?

If the shoe fits wear it speed. Palosi is your baby. She puts her interests ahead of my country's interests. She hurts this country's ability to defend itself. She is not for us she for the terrorists--brother

To kdubken This bill is to protect the communication companies from prosecution for releasing records. Our government is not asking to change laws, prosecute its own people illegally, or much else except protect these companies from legal battles over records. How hard of an issue is that to understand and then to block it after the Senate approved it. Plus it was already in effect for some time. This is government at its worst.

I see this more as a bipartisan issue, not a democratic issue. There are sections of the 2008 Act that have been approved and sections that have failed a vote. Other sections are still being worked on.

While we need to ensure that we can perform effective survellience overseas, we have to remember that what happens when that conversation is held on both the foreign soil and American soil? How can the 1st and 4th Admendment rights of Americans be protected?

I think it is too complex of issues to grasp in its entirety or to label it a republican or democratic issue.

According to The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act: A Brief Overview of Selected Issues Order Code RL34279

Senator Reid (D) sought unanimous consent for consideration of the House-passed bill, H.R.
3773, but Senator McConnell (R) objected.

Senator Rockefeller (D), for himself and Senator Bond (R), proposed an amendment in the nature of a substitute to S. 2248 (S.Amdt.
3911).

On January 29, 2008, both the House and the Senate passed H.R. 5104, a 15-day extension to the sunset for the Protect America Act, to allow further time to consider, pass, and go to conference on proposed FISA legislation, while ensuring that the intelligence community would have the authority it needed in the intervening period. Pursuant to an agreement and order of January 31, 2008, S.Amdt. 3909,
S.Amdt. 3932, and S.Amdt. 3960, each as modified; and S.Amdt. 3945 were agreed to, while other amendments were scheduled for floor debate. S.Amdt. 3930 fell short of the requisite 60 votes, and was withdrawn on ebruar

February 6, 2008. On February 7, 2008, S.Amdt. 3941 was agreed to, while S.Amdt. 3913 and S.Amdt. 3915 failed to pass. Still pending are S.Amdt. 3938, as modified; S.Amdt. 3911, S.Amdt. 3907, S.Amdt. 3927, S.Amdt. 3919, S.Amdt. 3920, and S.Amdt. 3910.

The only opposition to the protect America act is the trial lawyer lobby. Palosi puts lineing the pockets of lawyers over the safety of Americans.
Palosi is a democratic. Trial lawyers are democratics. They are together against the war effort. I don't care who you are that sucks.

If you're going to "act" educated on this issue kdubken learn how to spell her name. You're an old dog that obviously won't learn new tricks so talking with you about anything other than a conservative (notice the a instead of e) republican's viewpoint is worthless. Exerciser I laughed about the old lady comment but he's a widower - comment was probably true when she was living. I would agree also that these "old widow women" ignore him.

Protect America? Is this the intelligence thing that's been going on for nearly 10 years or something new? I thought the Bush War was to protect America...do you truly feel more FREE?

At some point in time, with no exit strategy, protecting America would be coming home and worrying about our own problems.
