What a surprise to encounter some more folks into the "prog rock" of yesteryear. Yes, ELP, Genesis, Kansas - all favorite bands of mine and apparently others in St. Louis, too! And, jwstl, I agree 1000% on getting out in the woods! It's nature that most folks just don't appreciate enough, and it's a happy feeling just getting out there and experiencing it.

Along the lines of prog rock, I thought it was dead until I recently discovered some new bands still doing similar stuff: Check our The Flower Kins ("Space Revolver" and "Paradox Hotel" in particular), Kapia, IQ, and Spock's Beard "V" for starters! And lo and behold, even a band from Chatanooga, Tennessee called Glass Hammer really makes some beautiful rock - check out "The Inconsolable Secret". You probably won't find these at the local WalMart, however, but most online stores/services have them! Just wanted to pass this on to others of similar interests!

P.S. Be CAREFUL when downloading music - make sure it's LEGAL, not because I care about the RIAA (just a bunch of wealthy music tycoons) but they are REALLY going after abusers and they will try to track you down and sue you if you're not careful!

Darn typos: That's "The Flower Kings" above, not Kins. VERY quality prog rock without getting boring - dramatic, complex, mellow to hard without getting too heavy, lotsa beautiful keyboards. Similar to Yes and Genesis in one band.

Glass Hammer is more like Genesis and Triumvirat mixed - a bit more keyboard oriented and more mellow. Some of you might be amazed at these bands, considering they're still making this stuff in 2007!

yes that is true keppy12......but in all actuality you can acquire almost anything you do on the internet...possibly even on here...yes that is true...you just need to make sure that you are very well protected no matter which download program you use...i recommend throwing out any of those junk virus programs such as norton anti-virus or any other virus scanners that are either pre-installed or that you purchase from a distributor. I have found that AVG works the best or use Avast...when i build computers, i make sure that one of these programs are installed...

Any file sharing system that opens your computer to access from others is prone to viruses and other technical attacks. So, use Limewire and all shareware with caution - that's my take after 20 years in PC tech support.

And Norton or McAfee anti-virus, while not perfect and a bit anti-performance (your system will slow as they check every darn thing you do or load for viruses), are prefectly fine for protecting your system and I recommend one of them. Just keep them up-to-date with the automatic Update features (i.e. Live Update, etc.).

Of course, I also recommend buying computers from reputable manufacturers!

This pic is what I like to call my happy place.I cant wait for spring to get in full bloom and get back up to the woods.Just sitting in the middle of all that nature really gives you time to think and reflect on things.I have had deer walk within ten feet of me while sitting in the woods, what a great feeling to be at one with nature.
