We had that nice small snow storm hit us early Sunday morning, it was just beautiful outside at sunrise. I watched the birds for a bit since I was up, bad pain keeping me up, but it was worth it so I could enjoy a very beautiful morning.

Our resident Cardinal was defending his territory, seeing the two bright red birds flying around in all the fresh white powder was something I did not want to miss. After watching them for a bit I setup my camera. It was a rather drab morning light was, very flat and not bright at all, overall I am still happy with what I was able to capture.

Here is one image for now, the rest will follow later along with some shots of the Lunar Eclipse we had a on the 20th.

Great shots John..... Hey we are coming up on the time when the magnolias are going to bloom..... The largest trees on record in the state of Missouri at one of my favorite hangouts.... You could get some really incredible shots.... Look in my photo album and you can see some shots that I took last year with a cheap camera..... It might peak your interest.....

I had thrown out bird seed when the snow was on and a little fat red-bird was eating away.

He looked like a little toy red bird.

Those are great photos. It's nice to see the blue jays and the crows making a comeback post-west nile virus that killed so many a few years back.

I have lived in the St. Louis area pretty much all my life. Lived in a few other places, like New Orleans, but I always end up coming back home to the mid-west. I am a photographer and an avid bicyclist. I may not always be able to ride due to chronic pain from nerve damage in my lower spine, but it is what I love to do. I have had the pleasure of having my work hang at two group shows in a Chicago gallery. One of my favorite horror/dark artists was part of the show, Chad Michael Ward, having my work hang with his was a true honor for me. Recently I have started showing my work here in St. Louis, so far I have been part of four to date at The Koken Art Factory, Soulard Art Mart (SAM Gallery) and The Art COOP in the central west end. I am also starting to hold local photo classes, giving anyone that wants to learn how to either use their camera better, learn the basics of buying a good camera or find more information on how to improve their own photography skills. The classes will be held at places like The Missouri Botanical Gardens or The St. Louis Zoo. These classes/seminars will be conducted by myself along with some of my fellow photographer friends if needed and they will all be done free of charge. John W
