I have noticed many times that adults will be driving down the street with their children climbing all over the car. Is it really that difficult to buckle a safety belt??
I was at a Belleville gas station pumping gas and a woman came out. She had an infant and a child no older than 4. She put the baby in the carseat, but her and her young daughter both just hopped in and started to leave. A man was at the pump next to her and waved his arms to stop her. He told her that she should buckle her daughter up in her booster seat because he would hate for something bad to happen if there was an accident. She told him to mind his own business and as if proving his point she pulled out so fast from the pump out of spite that her daughter stumbled backwards in the seat (she was squatting). What if she were going faster on the road instead of in a parking lot? I do not know who the man is, but her attitude made me post this. He was a good samaritan. We could use more of him.
If there would have been an accident and her child was hurt, she would have been crying and kicking herself for not taking the 2 seconds it takes to buckle that little girl in. A booster seat costs $15.00 at any store and you better believe that my car does not move until my children (ages 4 and 7) are buckled. Is the laziness worth your childs well being? Things happen. Accidents happen.
My question is....
Do you think that the man was rude to point out to her that she should buckle up her child? I dont, but I would like to get the opinion of others. Maybe if you do think he should have minded his own business, do you buckle your children up?
