You can talk all day about if we should have gone to war in Iraq. The point is that we did. So the question is do you want a Pres that is willing to lose a war?

Firs to all the war is already lost - no one wins a war. We started the fight and we can leave now and still be deemed as successful to some extent. We need a president that is not already part of the political machine. So, McCain needs to win and hand the baton to Palin in a year.

Anti-War to Anti-Bush to Anti Republicans may control all 3. ANTI Worked in 2006 and may work in 2008. They even had people believing a Republican sent the planes into the twin towers. Should be interesting in Nov and the next 4 years should be,,,, Watch OUT Who knows what those silly people will believe....

At this point, there is no such thing as winning or losing.

There is such as thing as winning with honor and victory in Iraq. MOST MILITARY do not want another Vietnam, and that was the only war we lost. We had a lot of Jane Fonda's that had no idea what was going on - but for her own glory she wanted the troops home to the extent that she got some of the POW'S KILLED WITH HER ACTIONS. This crap about never ever leaving Iraq - well lets face it - have we ever left any of the other areas we went into to protect? This same old crap we went in for oil - it only shows the mentality of the people that think that. I even heard that about Desert Storm, there are some that want to see America fail and I am not one of them - I have fought too hard and too long for freedom and I want to be able to pass it on. I might add these whiners are the ones that have never been out of the United States of America because if they had they would be kissing the land that they live in.

What do I want in a President - I want a man or woman that will put COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE FIRST, then themselves. I want someone that will guard my freedom with as much honor as I do, I want a President that you can talk to and who will LISTEN. I want a President that will WORK to keep America functioning by watching our monies and the committees under him. I am not saying he has to do it all himself - but if I was President I would require a monthly report be handed in to me and any areas of dispute explained.

I want a president that (1) knows how to talk to leaders of other countries, (2) uses diplomacy, (3) respects the sovereignty of other nations, (4) negotiates for peace when there is a disagreement, (5) uses war as a LAST resort, (6) has a plan to succeed, (7) identifies attainable goals, (8) has a strategy for exit once the goals are achieved, and (9) has the best interest of the U.S. and all of its citizens at heart.

.....for starters.

mutatis - once again you disregard history in making your assessment. The American people aided by the NEA have turned their skulls into ramekins full of mush and are unable to comprehend complex issues or an issue which takes longer than a 30 minute TV show to complete.

The terrorists on the other hand will sit and patiently wait once they are shown any sign of weakness, and a year or so later when we're off wondering what Lindsey Lohan is going to wear and when the next handout of free government cheese will take place, they will hit us again with another attack.

At this point in history we cannot show them anything which appears to be a sign of weakness, although Barry and his buddies are trying hard as they can to replace the US flag with a white flag of surrender.

I am still waiting for someone to say what constitutes a "win". We ousted the evil Saddam. We set up a democratic government.
Our goals it seems have been achieved.
Oh yeah, we unleased the terrorist that Saddam was successful in keeping in check. OOOPS !!
Now we performing the same type of control that Saddaam used to put them in check in the first place. Terror of our own.
What IS a win?? Taking ALL the money from our economy?? Guess what. A win is right around the corner. Hooraaaah !! We're BROKE !!

Yep I agree nailer. I am beginning to like Palin more and more. As for Hussein - I am Saddam not Obama - yes I thought once he was captured things would cool down and we'd be out. Whatever happened with Bush's idea of Mission Accomplished?
