Sen.Obama has changed his stance on the Spy Bill by voting for the domestic-spying laws last week. He has also come out for corporate tax cuts. Unlike before he has stated his suport for Isreal and a undivided Jerusalem. It also looks like he is changing his mind of Iraq. He told Iraq foreign minster Zebari that he wouldn't take any steps to jeopardize Iraq's recent security gainsand leave signicant number of troops in Iraq. He still wants to raise taxes on individuals but I guess you can't have everything.

jsage - You just know he can flip-flop his positions 3 times a day, depending on what audience that he's standing in front of....and his willing accomplices in the press and media will not call him on it.

McCain on the other hand changed his stance on ANWAR and deepwater coastal drilling from 10 years ago and the press had a field day trying to tear him apart for a flip-flop.

Friend of mine who is (but considering a change) a leading Democrat in the State of Missouri said that all you have to do with Obama is when he makes a promise just simply ask yourself, "How's he going to pay for that?"

Now , Now Obama is a man of his word . That word just changes to fit the times .
As my Grandmother used to say . Mr. Obama gives me the all overs , in the wrong way .

From what I've seen...that is the difference between the parties. Republicans stick with their word and democrats change to win over the most votes...right or wrong.

TRUE to a certain extent. In 2006 Repubs kicked out a majority in congress for going back on their word. Regretably, they were replaced with Democratics who are worse spenders than the people we kicked out.I am a conservative Republican. Very often I support people who say they agree with me and really do not.

you must have an incredibly short memory to think that anyone from either party keeps their word on anything. I guess if you dont remember their promises or pay attention to their actions it would seem like they kept a promise.

Waet a minute. I do remember a comprehendive energy policy proposed by Bush in his first term. It involved reduceing red tape for new refineries and nuclear plamts. It provided for alternitive fuel research and drilling oil wells. Of course that in longer term stuff.

I remember 911 and all the Democratics running around waveing flags and talking tough. I remember Democrats supporting the Iraq war and later pukeing backwards when the going got tough.

I remember Democrats gutting the Protect America Act a couple weeks ago. I remember democrats raving about closing Club GITMO. Oh yeah they are still doing that.

I also remember The Bush tax cuts that got the economy out of recession into 3 yrs of unreported booming growth. I see Obama's promise to raise taxes. I don't remember much ,but, I remember some.
