I have been dealing with the other drivers insurance company over this accident which was American Family...So im scratching them off the list cause they are horrible!!!   Suggestions?

I've had State Farm for a very long time and no trouble and no outrageous price increases, but would warn you to check out the agents, not just the company. Our organization also has State Farm. Yesterday I got a message from them saying our insurance was about to be cancelled and we had til the 14th to pay. I called them to find out what was going on as we had not even received our bill yet. As it turns out, somehow things had gotten changed in their system (a merge and purge?). They had us located at our old address of almost 3 years ago. Now they had our new address, they had our new phone number . . . and last year we got our bill at the right address, why now are they showing us back at the old address?

We got it fixed, but they made it seem like it was our org's fault, not theirs.

On the other hand, my agent for my personal insurance, is fantastic. Always willing to go the extra mile for his clients. Great staff too.

I have USAA, it is through the goverment. My dad was an officer in the army, alot of people don't even know that are eligible. It is the best insurance you can have, I insure 3 vehicles, all full coverage for 155.00 a month,
2 new ones and one 1997 yukon. You can only have it if you are one of your parents were an officer in the service, and if the parent had it. Then your eiligible and if you take it, then your children are eligible. There can't be a break in the chain!

I have State Farm. My family has been with the same agent for years, all the way back to my grandparents. He takes really good care of us. Like LadyCardFan said - no outrageous increases in premiums or anything like that. Love them!

I have had Allstate for about 30years now and I cannot complain. I have read about the tricks that State Farm was caught doing a few years back, flood damaged vehicles being sold as new or some such. So I stay away from them.

I have had bad experiences with American Family(charging too much and unfriendly customer service) and State Farm not wanting to pay out for someone that hit me. I have been with Allstate for 2 years and they are wonderful.

I ALSO HAD A POOR EXPERIENCE WITH AMER. FAM. WE HAVE STATE FARM, BEEN WITH THEM FOR 16YRS. BEEN VERY PLEASED TRY CALLING AGENT GARY SCHMIDT AT THE BALLWIN OFFICE 314 835 0700. YOU DONT HAVE TO USE AN AGENT IN YOUR AREA AS LONG AS ITS IN THE STATE. WE ACTUALLY LIVE 70 MILES WEST OF BALLWIN, BUT LIKED HIM SO MUCH WE JUST COULDN'T CHANGE. BEST OF LUCK AND HEY I ALSO SENT YOU AN EMAIL REGAURDING YOUR FENCE

I'm with AIG, and couldn't be happier. I got into an accident last year during the series of rain/storms in the STL area. It was a Fri. nite, and the traffic signals were out at Kingshighway, and Grand. I stopped, and proceeded cautiously when it was my turn, but still got hit by some NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING person in a mini-van. Afer it was all said and done, I got a check from them in a matter of 3 weeks to repair my vehicle. I switched over to AIG immediately from Farmers, and couldn't be more pleased at the rates, the coverage, and the service. They are willing to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That's my kind of company. A+, and knowlegeable staff too.

Knock on wood........we have had no accidents or tickets, and the price raises every 2 years no matter what.....I guess we are paying for others accidients......we switch every 2 years to keep them honest....they tried to say they raised it the last time because of bad credit score.......I read the fine print.....ordered my copy....presented it......and then they didn't have an answer....except it was time to raise it........CROOKS.......all crooks.......surely I'm not alone...........we pay and pay.........lord knows you're scared to call them for help............they'll cancel you STAT..........biggest scam I have ever seen permitted in the open.

We had Safeco several years ago. I had my first accident EVER while insured by them. I'd been driving over 25 years with a clean record - no accidents and only a couple tickets. My car was old, so they totalled it, but there was noone injured. After we settled and they basically store my car, I got a notice that they were putting me in their high risk insurance company. Needless to say, we dumped them immediately.

Later, when talking to my new broker (who also writes for Safeco) I found out that if you are in a wreck after a certain time of night (midnight or 1:00 a.m.?), Safeco automatically assumes there was alcohol involved. I think that stinks.

I work for State Farm, an agent in Bridgeton, MO. I would be happy to discuss your insurance with you. If you look at State Farms track record, financial stability, service and the excellent claims team we have I think you would be very pleased. Been employed by Stfm for 7yrs and a customer for 18.

He's telling the truth about their claims service. State Farm is great in that regard. They basically write you a check on the spot.

if you are 50 or over, aarp, uses the hartford. we changed all our insurance and have been very pleased, both with the prices (i did a lot of comparisons) and the way they paid quickly, you know with the bad storms. we needed a new roof. but of course aarp is for 50 and up. good luck to you

Definitely shop it around online to compare those rates, but don't forget about insurance brokers who deal with multiple carriers. Sometimes they can shop your policy to several companies to see which comes out with the best rate for the best coverage.

One of my big pieces of advice: Don't be underinsured! Saving money is great but make sure you have enough coverage. On the other hand, don't buy too much, and make sure your deductible is at least $500.

Finally, then I'll stop preaching, try combining your homeowner's or renter's insurance with your auto policy to get a multi-policy discount. It doesn't always pay to go with the same carrier for both, but sometimes you can save 10 - 15%.

Good luck!
