a facistious little story but may have a ring of truth to it.
while walking down the street one day a u.s. senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.
his soul arrives in heaven and is met by st peter at the entrance.
welcome to heaven, says st peter, before you settle in, it seems therre is a problem. we seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.
no problem, just let me in, says the man.
well i'd like to, but i have orders from higher up. what we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. then you can choose where to spend eternity.
really, i've made up my mind, i want to be in heaven, says the senator.
i'm sorry, but we have our rules.
and with that, st peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
the doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. in the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. everyone is very happy and in evening dress. they run to greet him, shake his hand and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. they play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. they are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.
everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises... the elevator goes up up, up and the door reopens on heaven where st peter is waiting for him.
now its time to visit heaven.
so 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. the have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and st peter returns. well then you've spent a day in hall and another in heaven. now choose your eternity.
the senator reflects for a minute, then he answers, well i would never have said it before,m i mean heaven has been delightful, but i think i would be better off in hell. so st. peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a baron land covered with waste and garbage. he sees all his friends, dressed in rags picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. the devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.
i dont understand, stammers the senator, yesterday i was here and there was a golf course and club house, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. what happened.?
the devil looks at him, smiles and says,
yesterday we were campaigning.....
today you voted!!

the new year! what will it bring. more of the same. war, high gas, drug costs rising, crime, depression, why then do we wish everyone a happy new year. these things cant make us happy. the fact is, happiness is a fleeting friend at best, what makes us happy today will be replaced by trouble tomorrow. is there anyway to find real happiness in this life. im not talking about superficial, temporary happiness. im talking about joy, contentment, peace. impossible you say. no!! and i say no!! cast your cares on Him, Jesus. will all your troubles go away. probably not. will your life be great, hopefully, its up to you. as in the poem footprints, the times in your life when you see one set of prints, are the times when He carried you thru the storms, will gas prices drop, will war cease, crime end. doubtful.
how then can you have this joy. Jesus. once you have turned your life over to Him, you will not be concerned about the past or the future. you have today, one day at a time. and each day God's mercies are new. we are restored each day. you will know the Savior and you will be in His care. in truth even if you dont know the Lord Jesus you too are in His care. He loves all of His children and doesnt want that any should be lost, therefore even though times get tough and strife abounds, rest your cares upon Him and know that our God is in charge and in control. you have heard the phrase, though there be trouble at night, joy comes in the morning. accept Christ as Savior and have the joy in your life that He wants for each of us.

i love everything about the Bible, the Mind of Christ. i am most interested right now in this time about my fellow man. if in fact, in the koine greek there are 4 classes of the word if the first class condition is, if and it is most definetly true. if in fact we are in the end times, how long is this time frame, well, only God knows that one. but one telling sign is apostasy in His church. and it is quite apparent that this is occuring across the world. in all the christian churches apostasy is growing. it will be world wide, and at a certain time Jesus will come for His Church, this event is the Rapture of the church, in a split second in time all the dead in Christ and those alive in Christ will be taken bodily, instantly changed to resurrection bodies, to the throne room of heaven and be face to face with the Lord Jesus. this precedes the time of tribulation. the rise of antichrist and the false prophet, 7 years that satan has to wipe out the jewish people and set up his false kingdom on earth. the bible tells us that 2/3 of the jewish people will infact die but those who remain will become Christians and enter into the millenial reign of Christ himself upon the earth along with those who were raptured. global warming??? wars and rumors of wars??? do not worry Christ has a hand on these, prophecy will be fulfilled.
this is a short story i wrote some years ago which my son is illustrating for me.it is geared for children but you will get the message.
the ant the worm and the beetle
by julia frances amrein
it was the day of the gathering of the wild beasts, the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea and the insects.
the angel announced, " you have been gathered as before, not to be preserved, but to tell of the creator, the Lord God Almighty, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
the group representing the wild beasts stepped boldly forward.
the tiger so beautifully made, resplendant in color spoke, "i will tell what we saw of our creator. how priviledged we were to be in the garden. to live among the man he placed over us. to see our God walk among us. there was no struggle for us then. all our needs were met, no strife, no fear, all was well with us in His perfect place" "the man fell from grace, but we knew, He said He would make it right again. a child would be born, God with us, Emmanuel. He will come."
the tiger lay down and waited, and also his kind.
the camel stepped forward, "i represent the beasts of the field. Oh Yes! what a priviledge to have seen Him. we too knew, the star told the time. we witnessed the Blessed Birth of our King, we huddled around Him at the Manger, even as an Infant we knew, could feel His worth, priceless beyond measure."
the camel lay down and waited, and also His kind.
from a nearby tree and owl spread his wings and flew to a rock by the angel. "i am here for the birds of the air. we are a group so priviledged to have see the God Man, Jesus grow from a child to a man. He was human, but we knew from the beginning He was the promised King." the owl folded his wings and rested, as did his kind.
the land crab crawled from the sea and proclaimed Christ to all the groups around. "in His ministry He was always God and always Man. the privledge of seeing Him calm the sea and the hearts of men. He is truly God.
the crab rested and the fish of the sea stood ready nearby.
the tiniest of creatures slowly crawled to the rock where the angel stood. the ant the worm and the beetle made their way to the foot of the rock and proclaimed in voiced too loud for their size that they indeed were the most priviledged, for they were at the foot of the cross and were washed with the Most Precious Blood of the Savior as He died for Mankind.
all was silent. all waited, then the angel looked toward the east and Oh!!!! What Splendor!!! What Glory!!!!! The King is Coming!!!!!

the old testament is an historical account of the world before Christ , but it is also a foreshadow of His coming and the end of times. the mosaic law prescribed seven annual feasts in israel's ritual calendar. these feasts were divided into two groups: spring feasts and fall feasts. each feast communicated a unique aspect of God's plan for israel in human history and the coming of the Messiah (heb 10:1). the four spring feasts foreshadowed events in the saving work of the Messiah at the first advent and the founding of the church, these prophecies, or types, were fulfilled literally on the exact day of the feast. we can assume that God will fulfill the fall feasts just as literally. the spring feasts include Passover, the feast of Unleavened Bread, the feast of First Fruits, and Pentecost. the fall feasts include the feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the feast of Tabernacles. Passover was the first of these holy days and the first of three annual pilgrimage feasts requiring all jewish males to celebrate at the Temple in Jerusalem (exod 12: 23:1 ,Lev 23:5, deut 16:16). the Passover commemorated the historical deliverance of the jews from slavery in egypt and was observed on the fourteenth day of nisan, the first month in the jewish ritual calendar. Passover foreshadowed redemption through the crucifiction of the "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29 1 Corinthians 5:7) Christ was crucified on Passover eve as a substiture for the sins of the world.(John 19:14). the day after Passover, the fifteenth day of Nisan, the week long feast of Unleavened Bread began. it continued through the twenty first day of Nisan. during this week, israel was to do no work. on the first and last day, the people offered sacrifices Lev 23:6-8 num 28:16-25 deut 16:1-8. this feast emphasized israel's separation from the world as a unique nation. the feast of Unleavened B read also portrayed the impeccability of the humanity of Jesus Christ in hypostatic union, for Jesus Christ is called " the bread of life" (John 6:35) because Christ was sinless, He was qualified to die on the cross for the sins of the world (2 cor 5:21) isreal observed the feast of first fruits on the day after the Sabbath following Passover. at this feast, which was dictated by the harvest, worshipers brought the first sheaf of barley into the Temple, and the priest waved it before the Lord. then the priests threshed the barley, ground the grain into flour and offered it to the Lord as a grain offering along with a quart of wine. the first fruits symbolized divine blessing and were a guarantee that the harvest would be bountiful (lev 23:9-14). the feast of First Fruits protrayed the resurrection of Christ, " the first fruits of those who are asleep" (1 cor 15:20). like the feast of First Fruits, the resurrection of Christ anticipates and guarantees the harvest that is to follow (the resurrection of the saints). fifty days after the feast of First Fruits came Pentecost, the Feast of Weeks(lev 23:15-22 deut 16:9-12. it was the third annual pilgrimage feast and celebrated the wheat harvest, the arrival of God's provision. Pentecost represented the promise of God's Holy Spirit to israel under the New Covenant. this was to be realized initially at the first advent. however due to israel's rejection of Jesus and Messiah, the arrival of the Holy Spirit presaged the judgment of God on the nation (fulfilled in ad 70) rather that the blessing of the messianic kingdom. thus the fulfillment of the feast will not occur for israel until the people are regathered in the Land in the future millenial kingdom.
fall feasts: the second stage of israel's calendar occurs in the fall of the year, and the fall feasts forshadow Jesus' second advent. the feast of Trumpets occurs on the first day of Tishri (the seventh month in the jewish ritual calendar) in the autumn (lev23:24: num 29:1-6) this feast represents the preparation of israel for national repentance and the acceptance of Jesus as Messiah. this feast will be fulfilled at the end of the Tribulation when the armies of the antichrist attack Jerusalem. at this time, israel will be prepared to turn to Jesus as Messiah and experience a national salvation. the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur (day of covering) Lev 23:26-32 occurs on the tenth day of hishri, this feast represents the salvation of the nation and their recognition of Jesus as Messiah and Savior. the national expression of faith in Messiah's atonement on the cross comes at the close of the Tribulation. at this time national israel will call upon the name of the Lord and ask Him to save them, initiating the second coming of Christ Joel2:32 Matt23:3 24:30-31. the feast of Tabernacles, also called Succoth, the feast of Booths, or Ingathering, takes place on the fifteenth to the twenty first days of Tishri Lev 23:33-43 num 29:12-38) this feast occurred when the harvest was finally in and the people rejoiced that all was complete. it was a time of tremendous celebration deut 16:13-15 that lasted 7 days, the first and last marked by sacrifices. the people gathered fruit and dwelt in boothes made of branches and tree foliage to commemorate the complete provision of God and foreshadow the commencement of the millennium, we are in the time of fall. come Lord Jesus come.are you ready??

very interesting perspective by jay leno........
i hope you will all read to the end. jay leno puts pathetic negativity into perspective and makes us think. thats right , JAY LENO!!!
jay leno wrote this; its the jay leno we dont often see....
"the other day i was reading newsweek magazine and came across some poll data i found rather hard to believe. it must be true, given the source, right??
the newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed. and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. in essence, 2/3's of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.
so being the knuckle dragger i am, i started thinking, what are we so unhappy about? is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time, and see more food in moments that darfur has seen in the last year?
maybe it is the ability to drive from the pacific ocean to the atlantic ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state?
or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
i guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough. or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all, and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of americans who own a home. you may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained fire fighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings.
or, if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen tv's a burgular or prowler intrudes, and officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof best will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
this all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
how about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.
fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. no wonder the world loves the u.s., yet has a great disdain for its citizens. they see us for what we are. the most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don;t have, and what we hate bout the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
in know i know. what about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? the president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 911? the president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?
the commander-in -chief of an all volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? did you hear how bad the president is on the news or talk show? did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad?
think about it....are you upset at the president because he actually caused you personal pain OR is is because the media told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day. make no mistake about it. the troops in iraq and afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. there is currently no draft in this country. they didnt have to go. they are able to refuse to go and end up with either a general discharge, and other than honorable discharge after a few days in the brig.
so why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of americans? say what you want, but i blame it on the media. if it bleeds, it leads, and they specialize in bad news. everbody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. how many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? the media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. they offer what sells. and when criticized, try to defend their actions by justifying them in one way or another. just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like o.j. simpson to write a book aabout, how he didnt kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way, INSANE!!
stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. shut off the tv, burn newsweek, and use the new york times for the bottome of your bird cage. then start being grateful for all we have as a country. there is exponentially more good than bad.
we are among the most blessed people on earth, and should that God several time a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.with hurricanes, tornados fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the pledge of allegiance?
jay leno 2007
God bless you jay leno! from inriislord.

ahhh blogging, fairly new to me, and yet as an opinionated person it is revealing and stimulating to a point that i am getting a new perspective on not only my fellow man but myself as well. mostly politically involved purely from a Christian point of view, and because fox has not included religion as a debating point exclusively. but i have noticed on most if not all political blogs that the subject of God comes up, admittedly by myself a lot, but the responce from some, no names mentioned, but you know who you are. is totally antagonistic, belligerant and otherwise caustic. the favor and benefit of the doubt is always to the muslim the criminal the abortionist etc The word Christian enflames these people quite profoundly. Why i ask?? are these the same people who promote abortion, same sex marriage cloning and many more ideas and ways that are against the laws of God. most of these folks aspire to liberal politics mostly democrates, now dont get mad, democrates can have Christian principles as well as can some liberals. i am talking about the ones who blatantly deny God has any rights in this world. the ones who believe all pretenders to the job of god are on equal status to the Almighty God, Jesus Christ. if someone says the koran is the only book to read they will agree with them. if someone says The Bible is Truth they will say you are a religious fanatic. and that you should give all religions in the world credence. why? THERE IS NO RELIGION IN THIS WORLD THAT HAS ANY CREDIBILITY. oops is that a contradiction. no not so, Christianity is not a religion. it is a way of life. it is all about CHRIST. all about a relationship with Him. i confess when blogging with these lefty liberals i get upset, mad
lose Christian perspective, for which i heartly repent, and pray continually for any word or demeanor that will prompt someone to seek after Jesus the Lover of all men. He first loved us and gave us the greatest gift of all Salvation. thank you i you read this, bless you regardless, and may you come to know the LOVE of God the only God Jesus Christ,
the only NAME given by which you may be saved.
