Well I might have figured out the most difficult job in the world.  Some of you bloggers do this and you can have it.

Stay at home mom......

I have been on vacation for 8 days now, home with the girls.  We didn't do much the oldest had alot of activities last week, so I took some vacation time.  But now I think I'm ready to head back to work!!  Sure I don't like having to wake up at 4:30 in the morning, the traffic on 270, or having to pay a babysitter.  But this staying at home business might be for the birds!!!  Don't get me wrong I love my kids bunches and bunches, but if I have to watch one more day of PBS kids or trying to keep my 6 year old occupied.  I may jump off a bridge.  I need some adult interaction LIKE NOW!! And lets not even get me started on all this housework!

So my hats off to all you stay home moms...you soooo have the hardest job in the world!!

But probably in a few days when I am sitting in traffic, or one of my patients has their grandkids visit them I will be wishing I was at home with my kids.

i was a single working mom, i had to work 8 hour days somewhere too, and do the laundry, cook, give baths play taxi, clean, help with homework, coach ball, make pinewood derby cars, .........working moms do the same thing, only without the taking the kids to a sitter, packing their things for the day, getting up an hour earlier to get the kids up and dressed. going outta the way to pick them back up to go home. i was a stay at home mom when i watched my niece for about a year, and i would have done anything to do that again and not have to go out and work. and for seven years, i watched the kids during the day and worked evenings so i wouldent have to get a sitter, that really sucked.

I am a stay home mom. The only thing I ever wanted to be "when I grow up" was a wife and mother. I have no bad feelings for women who work outside the home, but I know there have been bad feelings on both sides for a long time. We are all moms and we all do the best we can. It's hard, no matter if you are a stay home mom, or a mom who works outside of the home. My mom stayed home and I think she felt looked down on by moms in the working world. I had a family member ask me, "just what exactly do you DO all day?" Like I sit on my butt eating bon bons. (ok, to be fair, sometimes I do sit on my butt, but I deny eating bon bons--lol)
MOTHERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!

oh no, ya dident step on my toes, i was just saying it was a heck of a lot easier to stay at home with the kids when they were small, then to go to work and drag them out in the cold mornings to daycare, and have to do all the work at home too... i would have loved to stay home, only got to exsperiance it for only one year.

Superjay I totally respect your job. My mom was a stay at home mom and I apprecieated it greatly. I was able to do any after school activities that I wanted. But I also knew from a young age that I didn't want my mothers life either.

Thanks for the response Rosie...I feel better now!!

when i opened this blog, i thought it was about alaskan crab fishing, the toughest job in the world........those guys get payed about 50,000 in two weeks and then wait for next year, but the % of not coming home is about 50 % too.... no way, i'll take stay home mom over that anyday.. i would pick stay home mom over 1000's of jobs...idk, i had fun in the summer, went to the pool almost every day, went to the zoo, grants farm, did some fun stuff, and in winter, i dident even get dressed outta my nightie most of the time, but i only had three kids to watch.. idk, i loved it, i thought it was the easiest job in the world, sorry, idk

your welcome, iluv......my mother was a stay home mom, and had 8 kids in 10 years, twins at 41 and another one after that, my mom and dad got married when she was 33 and my dad was 45, we were kinda a generation behind... heck i dident even know that ya got presents on christmas till i was in 4th grade, heard it from classmates, never went trick or treating till i was in 7th grade, with a friend... now that was a hard stay a home mom job, heck i was doing it when i was 6, washing in a ringer washer on the cold porch, hanging wash outside for 10 people, cloth diapers, and i had to rinse them in the toilet if they were poopie, and cutting wood, only sorce of heat, and none upstairs in our room, and butchering, ahhhhhhhhhh.... well, i can go on and on and make it sound like i'am really 65 instead of 51 but been there done that long before i was a mom, lol, yeah when i accually was a stay home mom for my kids, i had a ball.

I am a stay at home mom plus I do medical transcription for a major medical group. It is very tough to get my work done plus keep the kiddos occupied. I really don't miss the office scene. I have done this for 6 years now and I really do like it. Sure, I do miss the adult interaction but I also get to see things with my kids that I would miss out on if I didn't have the luxury of being able to stay at home. I must say I am very lucky to be able to stay at home and have a job like I do. Iluvmygirls, I bet you really did have a blast being with your kiddos but some people love that fast pace job. Not a thing wrong with that at all.

lilmomma, I agree with you on that one. LOL When my husband is off work....the kids are his. LOL Thank God for year round school. My oldest just started kindegarten this past Thursday. Now I have my 2 year old and my 7 month old at home. Pretty soon the 2 year old will be starting his speech therapy which is probably going to be 3 x a week for 4 hours.....

I have been a stay home mom for 14 year now. I love it. My kids are in Miller Reform School. They will learn chores, how to use the washer and dryer, vaccuum, mop/sweep..Even how to get lippy. HA!

I think the most favorite time of my life was when I stayed home with kids. I loved it from morning to night. Then I was lucky enough to have grandkids. (which my daughter in law loved). When she needed a break, she just called me. I would love to take them for a weekend. Now they are driving. And I sure miss those days.

I've always been a working mom untill 03/2004 whwn I becaame very ill & ended up totally disabled. Now I'm home with my 13 year old son everyday. And it has it's drawbacks...for the most part, I enjoy being home everyday, I get to check up on him at school, participate in severy school activities..whereas before I was either late, or couldn't make it at all, then there's the cooking, cleaning, errands to run, taking care of our dog " Jackson" (Yes it's me) I've even started doing yard work-And that I've always hated! The drawback is that I still get bored...I mean that "adult" contact gets missed sometimes during the day. I too am a single parent & even though I'm not gainfully employed, I still get stressed out & the whole bit...I don't think we ever get satisfied, totally with our lives no matter how we live it..Just LIVE it ladies, and ENJOY it!!!
