Good morning everyone. I came on fox 2 to see the recent news and saw the news of the mountain Lion in Jefferson County! I'm guessing that someone was setting traps and thats why it went roaming into the county. The area they're saying it might have been in is a subdivision too, all of the houses sit on like 4-5 acres and if it attacked a horse it has the taste for hunting now, I just hope it doesn't get a hold of a person. Basically about the only other animal that people have to worry about is black bear. Its cute to watch the cubs but you pay for it if you mess with them because mom isn't too far away watching her cubs.

As for news on the home front not much has changed, work is going good at Casey's, I'm cooking there which is nice because I like to cook. It can be go two ways, it can be rushed or it can be slow, last night was sort of slow so I took the time to stock up on stuff. Plus, I'm getting more hours there than I was at Rural King and its like a little family at Casey's, its a more relaxed environment mentally. On the home front, we're doing okay I guess, Gary's working overtime from 5-7 p.m. since they took on their nights again. So he works 5:30-1:00 then goes back and does 5:00-7:00 except on his days off and Saturday and Sunday unless they need him. Right now I'm reading a book called Sweetwater Creek, its alright, I'd rather have a mystery though lol.

I work tonight 4-11:15, got up with Gary at 3:00, that way I can spend time with him and also so I can stay up for a couple of hours and sleep during the day instead of being up all day and being tired when I go into work. I've got tomorrow off so I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do if I do anything at all since its supposed to rain. By the way, thanks Sue for the cucumbers, we cut some up and ate them in slices and others we fried, not too bad. The park is nice and quiet now, now that we got the trouble maker out, its peaceful. Well, anyhow, enough for now, I'm gonna relax for a little bit, and go back to bed. Have a good day everyone!

That Mountain Lion is not too far from where I live...... Deer are thick throughout there plus the Beaumont Boy Scout Reservation is there too so lots of places for him to eat and hide.........

Last year I posted on here but never heard anyone say anything about it...
Last year on our way to grandmas mom and me saw in the middle part were grass grows highway 67 on edge of road..we saw what looked to be a 4 or 5 month old couger(Mountian Lion).

Mom called on her cell phone to report it to police..When we came back home that late aftrnoon the body was gone..

For weeks I looked in new papers nothing about it...Now i know the diffrence between a dog and a couger..This was a couger and the paws alone were cougers and the tail color everything..

Even mom said she new it was so why din't we ever hear anything about it???

I'm not surprised. We've seen sign of a very large cat on grandpa's farm in Central Missouri.

Mountain lions aren't new news. One spent the winter here about 2 years back, along the river in some rock outcroppings. I kinda doubt if he attacked the horse as they said. Usually they'll hunt deer and dogs. None of our livestock was hurt by the one that wintered here. The deer did move out and the horses were a bit edgy all winter. The ranch dogs wouldn't follow us on any of the trails near where it stayed. Tryed many a day to find it and get some pics. Coyote hunters spotted him a few times. In a way it was kinda neat having the cat around! There's more wildlife out there than we know about or realize.
