Just a note, about the rebate checks, if you used turbo tax or h&r block, you will get a paper check or  the card you get from h&r block will be credited.  I kept looking for a direct deposit cause I used turbo tax .   just means you can't  spend it as soon lol

Hey there - let's all surprise Dubya and actually save that check. Since it was already our money to begin with this cash could go towards paying down debt or investing it into a short term CD.

We're getting $1,800 and my plans are to get a 3.25% 6 month CD. I am wondering how much we all should truly be getting back? I bet that number has another digit on it!

Well, guess we shouldn't complain, the government didn't have to be honest.

We used H & R Block and we got a direct deposit into our checking account.

Used H&R block and got my direct deposit last Tuesday.

Am saving it and using for gas money, should cover about 8-9 months worth of gas more or less.

well I haven't gotten mine yet but I know it'll be here within a week and it's going to fix my AC in my van and get me a new couch and than the rest will go into savings.

primslovejesus...I hope so...my ex owes alot of back support and my son could use it...my son's father owes 16 yrs worth at only $175.00 a month..he got off easy and still does not pay..My friend's mom works as a CPA and she asked her if they will take it and she said yes..they treat it like they do the income tax returns...

I guess the folks that have propane heat, like myself, can buy us a tank of propane! Not much left to spend after that, as the tank is now taking around $700. or so to fill. Just a little gas reimbersement to me.

Color does not matter. We are all turning into poor folk with the gas prices climbing daily, not to mention the cost of groceries.Also alot of folk have had wages froze for some time now, so no extra, for the cost of living expenses.

I owe taxes to the Feds so some of mine they'll keep. The $700.00 we get back will help with bills and gas.
So either way Bush gets it all back.
