From an email making the rounds:

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

* If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're 'exotic, different.'

* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you're a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack, you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

 * Name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with a population of 750,000, become chairman of your state senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America 's.

* If you're husband is nicknamed 'First Dude', with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

(and whoever thinks that race isn't involved is a moron)

AMOM -- so, after reading the above, you would rather vote for Palin (the least qualified) than Obama, highly qualified?

AMOM I also am a Moron I do not understand WHY Palin is being compared to Obama - I guess because Obama is too weak to be compared to McCain so they have to compare him to Palin, a lady.
Yes I will vote for Palin and I do not see how you can say she is the least qualified, what you quoted is NOT QUALIFICATIONS.
I live in Illinois and I know what Obama does and mostly what he does not do. If he gets in as president then all I can to you frenchmills is WELCOME TO MY WORLD FULL OF TAXES.
It sounds to me like you are sexist. Can't vote for anything with a skirt on? Can not believe a woman would/could hold her own in this man's world? She is to stay at home and do dishes and raise kids and not have an opinion on anything. The only area that I think Palin might be weaker is pure muscle strength and then I think she might be able to take on Obama in that department also.

making it a woman thing -- sorry but you fail

I see it as a qualification thing. And I see Palin as being unqualified -- anyone who reads the post can see that.

You would put your fate in the hands of someone like that?

Also, you might notice that this post examines the hypocrisy of those who support Palin, saying Obama doesn't have experience enough. She has even less -- and her TV interviews apparently demonstrate that she would not make a good president.

frenchmills I quess I'm going to have to be a moron. Lets see Gov. Palin's husband had a DWI 20 something years ago lets talk about Sen Obama who admits to smoking not just cigs, I also believe he admited to snorting cocain, and it was not 20 years ago. The church he attended for 20 years was nothing more then a front for a poltical org. that preached hate and you mean to tell me that Sen Obama sat there for 20 years Rev. Wright married him (Obama) baptized his children and according to Sen. Obamas own words was a mentor and role model for him and he didnt know the views of Rev. Wright. Lets see Sen. McCain has admited that his biggest failer in life was that he was not faithfull to his first wife which is not disfigured and whom supports her ex 100% that I heard come from her own mouth. As for his(Obama) wounderful job in Ill. ask some of them what they think of him they think he is nothing more then a corupt Chicago Polition. You need to revisit his Harvard experince I dont have enough time or space to go into that. He was not a "brilliant" community org. he was a mouth piece for ACORN and we dont even want to go into that group. And I guess your children did everything you told them not to do, I have 2 teenagers so if you believe they do you are living a pipe dream. As far as the Muslim thing you might just be scared spitless if you really dig into that one. I have much more to say on this but I think I have made my point.

Senior Citizen -

I don't understand why you make this sexist remark:

"Obama is too weak to be compared to McCain so they have to compare him to Palin, a lady."

Then you call someone else sexist.

Then you defend women for holding their own in this man's world.

Confusing - are you sexist or not?

Just for the record, the Republicans are only 24 years behind the Democrats in choosing a female VP.

She has more time than Obama he has 143 days in office and I might add only voted "PRESENT" so what kind of qualification is that, and she has several years as mayor, governor, and executive experience.
As far as her speaking - well she does not have 600 people writing her speeches for her, and you can tell that by the fact that she does not have to have a teleprompter - OBAMA DOES. I might add - these media is for Obama, the Teflon man, can do no wrong - no matter what is brought up about him, his preacher, his slum lord, his nasty mouth about poor people and their guns and bibles, and his wife's statement and the most interesting thing is her term papers are frozen and can not be revealed until 1 day AFTER THE ELECTION. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE. There is a lot that is being hidden.

Yes there was lady (Dem) that ran and they called them BOOGEDY AND FRITZ. But that is not sexist either huuuh.

The comments that were made about Palin were sexist. Palin is and has always been compared to Obama - WHY? She should be compared to Biden. Maybe that is the answer - those who are voting for Obama do not really know what position Obama is running for, president or vice president.
NO, I AM NOT SEXIT NOR RACIST. I am just sick of hearing all these nasty remarks about Palin's qualifications when Obama has less.

OK, last time I checked NONE of the First Presidents had experience leading a Country....the only person at the time of the Founding of this Country with experience doing that...was the King of England....

Experience means NADA, either Obama or Palin, Judgment Matters more...

Let me ask a silly question. Why is a VICE presidential candidate being compared with a PRESIDENTIAL candidate? Don't even try to answer with the tired "McCain might die early in his presidency" stuff either. Palin won't be running the country. For once let's try to compare apples with apples. And by the way, race may very well be a factor in this election, but only to morons and only morons will keep bringing it up to pre excuse a loss should Obama not get elected. There are actually a few of us who vote the issues and not the party or the color.

If you go by the last two weeks in interviews, Palin looks like a total dingbat. It's pretty bad when you're mocked in a comedy skit on SNL using your exact words. Hopefully, the campaign has tutored her better for tomorrow night. On the other hand, McCain continues to be proved wrong (i.e. he just recently declared we needed to stay in Iraq at surge levels, and just today military leaders are begging for "thousands of troops to go into Afghanistan" (Iwhere Obama's been saying we needed to be for months), McCain's "against pork", but the newest bailout he supports is full of it, etc) (BTW McCain has missed more votes in congress, 2/3, than any other senator), he has a long history of de-regulation and was one of the Keating 5 senators, now he wants strong regulation; two weeks ago he's saying the economy is strong, then last week rushing off to DC because it was imperative he save the economy (which he had no part in), admitting he's in favor of continuing Bush's economic policies when Bush is the most inept, fiscally irresponsible president in history (but he's for change exactly where?); he and Palin might make a good pair as he looks like a buffoon and she's, so far, been strong comedic fodder. I agree and I've said before all first time president's have OTJ training. The constitution doesn't require "experience" and you only need to look at current events to see the mess experience made. Nothing I've seen sways me from Obama.

"McCain has admited that his biggest failer in life was that he was not faithfull to his first wife "

And that makes everything okay? and we should forgive his indescretions? He's no longer a self-centered, womanizing, unscrupulous pig (without lipstick)?

So if Ted Kennedy said the biggest failure in his life was when that young lady died, we should all forgive and forget, right?

Like the ole saying goes "Stand for something!!Or fall for anything" I am a republican...But let me say this!!! The republicans have not controlled the house or the senate, in a long time...All the laws and policies of late, have been created by democrats...All these people pulling for Obama are foolish, Iam in washington state right now were the price of gas is $3.39 a gal and diesel is $3.85 go over to IL where they have 2 refinerys downstate and 3 upstate, and check the price...Obama voted to raise the gas tax there...This is a JR senator getting ready to take on a job he is not ready for...People question Palin and her experiance? She was the leader of a state all be it small in size, but not in resources...Everyone is hung up on race!!!Which is really dumb!!! This country is and will always be mostly white (71%) having a black president makes little difference...If thats the only reason that you're voteing for him stay home...The change you think is going to happen, WON'T...

I go all over this country and in almost every coffe shop in america I go, which is alot... Most of the whites question how did Obama ever beat Clinton, or Biden... Not only the fact that his wife is a racist bigot, that went to an ivoy league college, and than came out making $300.000 a year, but this was the first time she was proud of America "her own words"... "So the chickens have come home to roost" MOST OF WHITE AMERICA DOES NOT LIKE HIM... He is gettig nieve college kids...He is losing on every internet poll that I have seen...Outside of main stream media polls...But he created this, as did his wife...Look the farmer in NEBRASKA has very little contact with blacks nor does the rancher in Montana, nor the amish in PA...City folk do not the diary farmer in WI... So race does play into this election...But who brought it up, by saying "This is the first time I have been proud of this country...

You never get a 2nd chance to make 1st impression...And in Michelle Obama's case maybe thats a good thing!!! He himself said he thought we were not out of the woods as far as the terrorist went than in another sentence talked about cutting the military...As the natives would say "He speaks with a forked tongue" His speechs come from former politians and hollywood movies...Movies like The president, with Kirk Douglass and Richard Dryfuss...Americans listen and no matter what the media thinks Americans are not that dumb...

The SNL skits were written by people who do not like McCain or Palin, like Al Franken. Tina Fey (however you spell her last name) said how she can't stand Palin. Al Franken can't stand the Republican Party especially since Air America was such a flop.

Returned to St. Louis November 1970 and have live in South St. Louis ever since, have seen many changes, but have seen that the City has remained mainly stable, even grown and attracted young urban professionals with good incomes, an ingredient for a healthy community. Have seen first-hand the circumstances of the disadvantaged of the City. I know somewhat what is going on there.
