Here is my favorite sweet treats for the holidays.

Jack Daniels Holiday Classic Fruit Cake

1 cup butter

2 cups brown sugar

4 eggs

3 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup Jack Daniels Whiskey, plus more for soaking cakes

½ orange juice

3 cups Pecan halves

2 cups chopped dried apricots

2 cups golden raisins

2 cups chopped dates

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.  Grease 3 8 ½ x 4 /2 inch loaf pans.

Line pan bottoms with wax paper.  Cream together butter and brown sugar

Until light and fluffy about 4 minutes.  Add eggs, beat well.  In separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt,.  Add flour to butter mixture alternately with whiskey and orange juice.  Beat on low speed just until blended.  Stir in fruits and nuts.

Spoon into prepared pans.

Bake about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool in pans on wire rack.  Remove from pans.  Wrap each in whiskey soaked cheesecloth.  Wrap tightly in plastic wrap then aluminum foil.  Store in refrigerator for 2 weeks before serving.  Makes 3 fruitcakes.

Jack’s Holiday Tennessee Whiskey Balls

2 cups toasted chopped pecans

1 box (12 Ounces) vanilla wafers, finely crushed (about 2 ¾ cups)

2 cups powdered sugar, plus more to roll cookies in

½ cup cocoa

¼ cup corn syrup

½ cup Jack Daniels Whiskey

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.  Blend well with hands.  Form into 1-inch balls rolling dough between hands.  Roll in powdered sugar.  Store in air tight container.  Makes about 5 dozen.

Well I read on MSNBC that Mike Vick is going to plead guilty so that Healing can begin.  Get real Mike - you just got caught, your boys rolled over on you like a $3 dollar bill.  Although the Fed proscuetor has recommended 12 to 18 months the Judge could reject that offer and give him a sentence different than what was recommended.  Depending on how the Judge feels Mike could get an eye opener when he is sentenced on August 27th.  What I think is wrong is that the 3 that rolled will likely get a lesser sentence and they were the ones who took care of the dogs.  They probally won't get a fine because Mike will pay that and they will be laughing if they are not already laughing.  I hope he can see who is Real friends were.  The NFL hasn't stated what they will do  because there investigation is still going on but I'll bet the owner of the Falcons is wanting to put this as far away from the team as possible.

Its sad to see a good player get involved with people who mean them NO GOOD, but you would like to think that common sense would prevail.  Its sad because he will now most undoutably feel the worst sentence - he will be another Mike Tyson he will be the example they will make.  Lets just hope who ever else is involved in this activity they will open their eyes and see how damming it can be not only personally but professionally.

This story was reported last night - all I can say What are people thinking when they leave a 3 & 2 year children alone where their is a swimming pool?  How many children have to die before the parents or whom ever is responsible for caring these children start to act like parents.  MY PARENTS WOULD HAVE NEVER ALLOWED ME AT THAT AGE TO BE ALONE BY A SWIMMING POOL. .  Are they not thinking - do not the care - I know the story stated a 12 year old was supposed to watching them.  Again what are they thinking.  

This is truly a sad story but I can't help but get mad when I saw this - our children are dying needlessly everyday at the hands of people who is supposed to looking out for them.   But the kicker is those people want to get upset about what happened however they are the ones who actually causing these deaths by MAKING STUPID DECISIONS, and we all know you can't fix STUPID.   But the little ones are the losers in the end.

I just read the above article and the court should have imposed the Death Penalty for this sorry piece of a Human Being.  Any one who rapes an INNOCENT 3 YEAR OLD GIRL DESERVES THE WORST FORM OF DEATH!  This angers me to think our court hands down a sentence of LIFE AND THIS SCUM WILL SERVE 40 YEARS AND BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE.

I truly believe that crimes against the  children(no matter the age) and elderly should warrant the death penalty.  When a person attacks the most vulnerable members of our community then the punishment should as well be extreme.  I for one an tired of our courts playing with these scum bags.  I'm sure the parents of All these children would have preferred the death penalty, the thought of this piece of dirt being allowed to walk around freely scares me. 

I hope that whatever big house they send him to that this scum will not walk out of - those guys may not be the BEST OF OUR SOCIETY HOWEVER THEY HAVE CHILDREN, MOTHERS, SISTERS and they do not take kindly to a person who does such horrible things.

I'm not sure Mr.Leeper will enjoy his new home or neighbors- SWEET JUSTICE....

I just read this article about the little British girl taken while her parents WENT OUT TO EAT  and left her and twin infants alone in a hotel room. 

I have a problem with them leaving their kids alone in a strange country, alone in hotel room while they ate.  Did the children not need to eat or what.  I truely don't understand why a parent would do anything like this.  The father is in the US talking with Congress while the wife and twins are still in Spain.  What is wrong with this picture.  From the first day the story broke I couldn't beleive the parents had left these children alone with no one watching them.  Honestly how does a 4 year old watch a set of twin infants.    I would like to be a fly on the wall to hear that conservation / explaination.  The parents should feel very guilty for leaving these kids and I just pray the little girl is ok - but with all the Sickos running loose who knows.

Just so sad the children we bring into this world are unjustly targeted and we as adults are supposed to protect/love them.  Yet adults are the ones who inflict the most harm to these innocent children.

When will the stealing stop?  Why is it when top executives who get paid thousands of dollars and perks do they see the need to steal.  What bothers me most of all is that the regular employee who is sometimes not paid well and NO PERKS always get the shaft.  These guys should do tall time and pay large fines - but what would be even sweeter is to take ALL THE MONEY FROM THEIR ACCOUNTS and make them into the bums they really are.  Jobs wonder why there is no loyatly with the average employee - look at what the higher executives are doing.  When I see the  listing of top paid exec's in our area it makes me sick.  Why do they need millions of dollars in salary, stock options?  Two thirds of the exec's think its a good ideal to OFF SHORE tech jobs to countries who first of all CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH nor DO THEY UNDERSTAND THE PRODUCT so calling to get customer support is a headache.  But they off shore so the exec's can have bigger year end bonsus while the average worker struggles to surrive. 

I hope they are convicted and given a VERY LONG PRISION SENTENCE WITH A VERY LARGE FINE MAYBE this will impress upon the exec's that backdating isn't worth it.

This whole story is sad.  What I don't understand is why this young lady went down to even say anything at all to this group of young people.  If this group is responsible for breaking into their home then they are capable of anything.

Should this young man be tried as an adult?  YES - too many young people are committing crimes without any hesitation at all.  They seem to think that nothing at all will happen to them.  A clear message needs to be sent that this behavior will not be tolerated.  I certainly know of young people who don't have a lot of material things and they don't do the senseless crimes.  What is the answer - I'm not sure - should we holler at our politicians for allowing business to leave our community and not replace the jobs lost?  Should we scream because they the politicians spend our tax money on STUPID STUFF INSTEAD OF MAKING SURE OUR YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE A PLACE TO GO FOR RECREATION OR HEAVEN FORBID SOME JOB TRAINING. 

I ask the politicians soliciting my votes what they plan on doing and they leave my doorstep without even an answer. 

Here we go - Lalcede Gas will get their rate increase - my question: when will the powers to be say enough is enough?  Ameren just got their rate increase, gas went up today over 20 cents and I just wonder how much more will the little guy take?

The above article was on Fox and I can't believe they (Mo. Parole Board) would even consider a medical parole for this slime.  Ok he was convicted of murder and given the death sentence should I be concerned now that he states he only has a short time to live.  Not long ago another prisioner not in Missouri was on death row and he had a heart attack they (prision officials) attended to him and then later in the month they excuted him.  So, with that I say place the needle in his arm and lets get the party started.

I do feel for the victims daughter - I thought her response was appropraite - her mom didn't get special attention while he was killing her so why on earth would anyone care how long he has to live.  The taxpayers should be mad that we have to house / feed these scums.  I know there have been honest people put in jail and sometimes it is a long time before the truth is revealed.  I say the justice system needs an overhaul - but this slime - I certainly hope the Mo Parole board tells him "well better luck next time"

I just read thi above article on MSNBC and I can't get over the xxxx of some politicans.  Who in the world does he think he is?  He is allowed to side step congress when they ask for information and now he's a National Monument WHAT A JOKE.  I beleive they have all lost their minds.  This just really floors me - when will this stop - Will congress not have the backbone to start impeachment process on this clown?

You know this is a sad turn on events.  I figured it wouldn't be long and Busch would make sure his buddy didn't go to Federal prision.  In reality Busch and Chenny should be impeached and Scooter should spend alot longer than 30 months.  So what he still has to pay the $250,000. fine.  He has the money - look at all the dirt he has done. 

The current government officials in my view are no better than those who would destory us because we are Americans.  Look at lies Busch has told to start a WAR WHERE INNOCENT YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN ARE DYING.  DO THEY CARE NO - LOOK AT THE MONEY HE AND OTHERS HAVE ALREADY POCKETED THROUGH CONTRACTS TO THERE FRIENDS. Dose Haliburton remind anyone of the double dealing going on. 

This coward will finaly get his justice when he goes to Menard.  Its just sad that he didn't aplogize to Ashely his victim and I believe because no remorse was shown the Judge should have thrown out the plea deal and gave him 30 years.  I just hope Ashley and her family can move on and this young woman can recover and learn that dealing with an older man is not always a smart thing.  I'm not saying this to be mean but common sense should have prevailed. 

I would like to be a bug on wall when on Sammy boy arrives at his new home the inmates find out what he is convicted of.  Then we'll see how much of wresler he really is!

You know this guy is a SORRY PIECE OF TRASH!  I guess now he's getting scared since the high dollar defense attorney's are UNABLE to exclude his confession.  What sweet justice---

I do have one question:  Why don't you just stand up as a man and plead guilty to the charges - why lie and plead not guilty.  Shelton you are a coward and a slime.  I truly hope the justice system puts him away for a VERY LONG TIME.
