I know a lot of people who love this time of  year because of the abundance of fish fries offered in Missouri and Illinois.   

Where are your favorites?

In the past mine have been:

St. James The Greater Church in the Dogtown neighborhood of St. Louis

St. Ferdinand Church in Florissant

Our Lady of the Pillar in Creve Coeur

Toss the bait, maybe I'll bite and give yours a try!

Saint Mary Magdalen in Brentwood has a good one also. They have the Cod Squad cooking. Must admit, i do like a good fish fry!

I like my fish fries at home but I will admitt that St. Ferdinand has a good one.

Also Holy Family in S. St. Louis used to have one where I sent my children to but the Church and their School closed so no fish fries anymore there.

Dan try the Catfish at the American Legion in Fenton.....

Nothing beats it.... They win hands down.....

They have Cod Too....

St. Ferdinand Shrine has the best fish frying and perhaps the best fish frying folks -- geez, talk about a tongue twister

St. Alphonsus "Rock" Church used to have a great fish fry (but, since the fire, our gym has been turned into our church!) :-(

I was at a fish fry last night in swansea, IL.
It was the best and they even had fried pickles! Ok some may think yuck! OMG they were amazing! Michelle stopped by to say hi, and she has some pretty funny photos! Maybe she will add them on here.

Tommy maybe next friday Fish and Dancing? LOL

It is just during lent, to bad that it is. They even serve beer and wine. Bunch of Catholics, what do you expect? St. Mary Magdalen is the parish I grew up in, so I am kinda biased here, but St. Ferdinad is great also. Have a good friend that used to be one of the pastors there.

I think it's time for a visit to St. Ferdinand in Florissant. It seems to be one of the favorites. Does St. Ferdinand have fish fries all year long?

Fried pickles????? Jana, you are a culinary queen. After Florissant I'll have to gas up and head to Swansea. American Legion sounds great too. Maybe we should arrange a blog-a-fry-looza in the next few Fridays. If it is not too far from FOX 2 I could get away for an hour.

Michelle has pictures???? No way. Is her memory full yet?

Okay, smarty-pants....Michelle's camera is no longer "full" because Michelle4wellness has cleaned up all the pictures on it. Plus, I have a new little keychain-thingy that I can store and display lots of pictures! So there!!

I have to download my pictures from Friday night's fish fry (dang, those fried pickles were tasty!) and then I will post them here.

Tell you what Dan....you pick the fish fry that's close to the station, and I will plan a blog-a-fry-looza for this Friday night, after the 5 show. We will grab you and take you along!! Whatcha think?

Hey Dan....have to go fish gigging with some of the guys in my area for suckers. At times they'll clean them and fry right there at the bank of the river. I have a friend that frys here at the house at times.....and they're really picky about the heat etc. but they do one bang up job.

Okay, ya'll! The Blog-a-fry-looza will be THIS Friday at St. James the Greater Church at 6:30 pm. Please, please, please go to the Foxfamily blog and RSVP so I can reserve the correct number of seats. It will be yummy. Danny has the menu...maybe he will post it on the foxfamily blog so we can choose our food ahead of time. I hope they have fried pickles!

I'm like really late in this reply, but I would have to say the best fish fry i've been to i st. anthony's in high ridge but our lady's out in house springs, is getting pretty high up there.

Dan, this has nothing to do w/fish frys. But I just wanted to let you know how great it was to get to meet you at veesters & then getting to bowl w/you was a added bonus.
Now I guess Michelle forgot that Im also left handed:) Ill give you another tidbit to tease her w/about leftys> Its medically proven that left handers are the only ones in their right mind. you see right handed people think w/the left side of their brains. left handed people think w/the right side of their brains. therefor leftys are the only ones i their right mind:)
