Is there one? Correct me if I'm wrong, but does he still have a year to go on his contract?  Although believe the front office would  keep him around, he might not feel the same way.  It seems to have been an unusually tough year with all the injuries and personal problems. If he's not back, any idea who might be a replacement?   I'm no expert, but wouldn't Jose Oquendo be interesting?  A player with us for 10 years, in every position, and coaching a few years, he definitely knows the organization.

As you've seen in my blogs and comments - Tony's time is up. We need to move on with a new manager. Jose could be a decent choice but also Joe Girardi. He's managed the Marlins last year almost to the playoffs with only an $18million salary. That salary is the entire team's combined pay for one year. LOL - yep...when most clubs are near $100mil and some almost $200mil - the Marlins totaled $18mil last year. So, we need a change and anyone is better than the current. Let's see what they do. Jockety (sp) will be gone also.

can't speak for anyone else, and never will.but i hope tony comes back, every time a team has a bad year,it's always the managers fault, but just like any other manager in any other profession, they are only as good as the people playing and or working for them

Tony is a class act. He had a bad year and had a hell of lot to deal with. I think he did an outstanding job dealing with all the press about his mistake in preseason. Then the Hanncock deal. He is the winningest coach in Stl. history. Now all you peaple want to run him out. Man you guys are real fans.

Would prefer La Russa to stay, (He deserves it, IMO), but wonder what is going through his mind? He's a hard guy to read.

I believe I heard Tony is waiting until the season is ended before he thinks about his contract. I "think" it is over this year. But I still think he is one of the best managers in baseball and I hope he stays. He doesn't throw the ball or hit the ball, he is the teacher and I darn good one. Don't listen to the naysayers Tony. You have nothing to prove, especially after the previous season.

I truly believe that Tony will sign a 1 year contract, and here is why.
1. His best friend Dave Duncan has one year remaining on his contract.
2. Walt Jocketty has one year remaining on his contract.
So since Tony is very good friends with both of these two class acts, I think he will be back for at least one year to finish with his friends. Now after next year I think it will be a all three stay or all three go. (I hope its all three STAY!!!

I think Tony Should stay for another year or 2. I don't see him leaving. But I think if tony goes then Dave Duncan and Walt Jocketty will go to....
BUT TONY LARUSSA SHOULD STAY AS THE CARDINALS MANAGER!!!!!
