STL:

I used to love Brett Favre ... and ESPN ... and now I hate them both.  Okay, maybe hate is too strong of a word, but I'm really sick of hearing minute-by-minute updates on Favre's situation by a half-dozen ESPN reporters that are camped out at strategic Favre locations across the country.  We are getting dangerously close to Barry Bonds-Pedro Gomez like coverage.  Remember back during the BALCO investigation when Gomez was Bonds' shadow, delivering daily reports on important Bonds developments like "Barry just ate a turkey sandwich," or "Barry just adjusted his protective cup."

I would hate to work in Green Bay right now.  It's turned into a Hollywood paparazzi like circus with fans breaking into Team Favre and Team Rodgers factions (about 99% Team Favre).  I actually feel sorry for Aaron Rodgers, a guy who's been paid millions of dollars over the last 3 years to do absolutely nothing.  The only person I think, that's benefited from the situation is Mike McCarthy (but maybe not in the wins column).  I think McCarthy has handled the situation well with fans and the media, explaining things clearly, standing behind Rodgers while also taking Brett's best interests into consideration.

But, I just don't care anymore.  I have absolutely no interest as to how this story ends.  Favre will always be a Packer no matter what the outcome, and that's how I and most of America will remember him.

What do you guys think?

So you think the media is over reporting this story ? LOL . The media over reports every story , that may have an ugly side .

When this is over and all is said and done . The real loser in all this will be Mike McCarthy . Right or wrong he will take the heat , for Farve not playing in Green Bay .

I think Farve would look great in Rams jersey .

I agree...all Favre all the time is a bit much. I don't think there can be any winners in this situation. I must admit though...I was talking baseball with friends last night and our conversation did drift to the Packers. Sigh...

When you RETIRE from professional sports that should mean that you can no longer "come back" and play. The same is with Michael Jordan and others. Retiring is what the dictionary states - "to give up one's work" - so get over it Farve - enjoy your millions!

Are you kidding me??? I love it!! I wanna know what Brett Favre is doing right now! (what is he doing!?!?) He's probably having a meeting with his WIFE.... at their HOME! what??? Think about what that means. I can't even begin to fathom what the possible implications for Ted Thompson. I wonder what was discussed? I bet Wendi Nix will be the first to tell me. And has Aaron Rodgers had anything to say about this meeting? These are the stories that I want to know about. Tell me more. Charlie, can you pleaseeee get up to packer country and figure this out for me? NOW! (queue the knight rider music)

Love Brett Favre. He's the only TRUE legend left in the game. I don't watch NFL games anymore because of all the egos, but I never miss a Favre game!

I am from St. Louis but I am a die hard Packer fan (and no...not because they did well last year). The Favre situation stinks and its no ones fault except for FAVRE. Okay, maybe the Vikings have a bit to do with it; contacting him during the off season (shame on you Vikings). Overall its Favre's fault.

I still respect Farve as a player and yes, he is a legend. I do not respect him as a person any more.

In the beginning of all the nonsense I thought he said he was wanting to come out of retirement to take some of the heat off of Rodgers for his SI interview comment. You know where he said people need to get on board or shut up...I didn't blame him.

TT and MM have to think of what is best for the Packer franchise not Brett Favre. They certainly don't have to bend over for Favre. He flip flopped on his decision one too man times and then to go to the media and throw the Packers front office under the bus like he did. WOW! I mean really...that's nuts. We have a term for that in the military, BLUE FALCON.

He's still playing. Good for him. He's not playing in GB. Good for GB. They have a promising future with Rodgers (He looked good during their first preseason game). I'm just glad we can move on and focus on whats really important...PLAYING THE GAME!!! GO PACK!
