If you allow them to nest in your pit now they will come back every year to nest there. Unless you want them there I suggest you cover your grill, because they become a nuisance.

I can't see you picture.

We had a wren in our's one year and didn't know it til she already had egg's.So we left the nest and got a smaller grill. We watched them. It was neat when she was teaching them to fly she would go in one of them hole with food and out the otherside and baby would follow. They never came back to there tho. But then again we put out more wren's house. I say she liked them better.

I wound up putting aluminum cans in the holes. That stopped them from getting in. Took them out to cook.

A couple years ago when the birds nested in there, we stuffed the holes with aluminum foil...they took it all out and proceeded to build their nest anyway!

Judging by the size of that nest I would carry an umbrella all the time.

mechany,,,it looked big enough for a duck or goose!!! these little blackbirds would have lost their eggs in such a big pile...so I guess we did them a favor...huh...

I work in registration at St Joseph Hosp in Kirkwood. Our hospital will be moving to Fenton the beginning of 2009. The new St Clare will have the newest in medical tehnology, and will focus on best practices and patient satisfaction and care. You can stop by and see our progress at 141 & Bowles Ave. My life is computer, day and night, for play and work. Gunsmoke, the tv show from 1955 to 1975, is my hobby. I have collected over 200 to 300 episodes of the 635 produced, plus the 5 Gunsmoke movies. 85 year old James Arness has a website where he talks to all us fans on a regular basis. But of course, Fox 2 is the best show on TV these days!!
