DIRECT TV---A SCAM??

In June of 2006 I received 2 credit card bills totalling around $850 for Direct TV. I dont have and never had Direct TV.

I just received in the mail an add for Direct Tv...it had my address and the name in the address window and also on the Dear.....line was : Hddghh Oiefhfhf.....

I called the company and said those letters and they showed up on their list of either customers or mailing list. How can that be??

We never found out who exactly charged the $850 to my credit card, which, incidently, hadnt been used in around 8 months, so it really stuck out since those were the only charges on the bill. They came in 2 billing cycles and were a total of 3 charges.

Kinda scary!!

Did the credit card company take it off?

Had the same issue about 4 months ago.

I have bought tires 18 months ago with a same as cash program and they sent me a Visa card.

It sat for a year UNACTIVATED in my home file when one day I get a statement from them for $500.00. There had been 8 different charges for diet pills all in one day.

The visa co cancelled the charges without a problem. One phone call and it was over with, but to this day they have never found out who had used it nor could they explain how my credit card number had been used when the card itself had NEVER been activated.

The Visa co said they had a crew of people who tried to track these people down but only caught them 50% of the time. Thats scary!!

I had problem someone got a visa card in my name with my S.S number..I am not suer wich one but know that it was one my real family members that did it..

My sisters and me S.S.numbers are exsacly one number from each other...So any one of them could done it or even one my real parents..

I have never ever had a credit card nor do I want one..Not only that but someone in Ohio opend a Cell Phone credit thing and now I get calls asking for payment..I never owned a cell phone nor have I lived in Ohio for years...

God this is crazy and I hope wich ever one doing it gets caught....

The credit card company took off my charges. Sometimes I wonder if it isnt someone from the credit card company that is doing it...especially in the case where the card was never activated!!

Sounds like it cgrimi!

I moved into this house two years ago. They were advertising like crazy, all the direct deals that were going on. Free tivo, dvr the whole nine yards!

I signed up for it. The local installer was almost done installing it and I asked, where's the box for dvr? He said, Oh, we don't honor those ads! I asked, why would I want it if it didn't get the package deal? He just shrugged his shoulders. I went outside with one of our old metal kitchen chairs and knocked his dish off the side of my house! You shoulda seen than feller running across the yard with his ladder under one arm and the broken dish under the other! Muahahaha!

I have collected over 200 to 300 episodes of the 635 produced, plus the 5 Gunsmoke movies. 85 year old James Arness has a website where he talks to all us fans on a regular basis. But of course, Fox 2 is the best show on TV these days!!
