Repeat DUI offender Roth is arrested again His seventh is upgraded to felony BY GEORGE PAWLACZYK - News-Democrat E-Mail Print Text Size: tool nameclose tool goes here MILLSTADT -- Matthew B. Both, accused since last year of six DUIs, walked out of an in-patient treatment center Thursday, got drunk and crashed a Chevy Blazer after forcing several motorists to drive off the road, police said. Roth, 48, was charged Thursday night with his seventh misdemeanor drunken driving charge that was upgraded Friday to felony DUI. This latest arrest marks the second felony drinking and driving charge since May when police said Roth crashed a 2007 Chevy Cobalt very near the same spot as his latest wreck. He is being held in the St. Clair County Jail on $200,000 bail. Roth was also charged with misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. Matthew B. Roth - Provided to BND At 8:50 p.m. Thursday, State Police arrested Roth near Illinois 158 and Douglas Street just west of Millstadt, where he had driven off the road. Roth was arrested on June 9 on the May charge as he was released from a treatment center at a St. Louis veteran's hospital. He is a former Marine. When he failed to show up in court on the May charge, Sheriff's Department Captain Steve Johnson and other officers tracked Roth to the veteran's hospital, where staff assured them he would be held for treatment until his release to St. Clair County. On Aug. 26 after his release from treatment, St. Clair County Circuit Judge John Baricevic released Roth on $100,000 recognizance bond under special conditions. Baricevic ordered that Roth could get out of jail only if he was released to the direct custody of a counselor from Gateway Substance Abuse Counseling in Caseyville. He was ordered to remain at the center and receive treatment. His next court appearance is set for Dec. 10. "He would have had to walk out. He is supposed to be in Gateway. He is not out legally or else I'd know about it," said Belleville attorney Tom Daley, who represents Roth. Roth has four DUI convictions in Missouri in addition to the seven charges since 2007 he has received in Illinois, according to driving records from both states. Court records here show that in three of the Illinois DUIs, a judge dismissed automatic driver's license suspensions after local police failed to show up. Millstadt Police Chief Ed Wilkerson has said his men didn't show up in court because they were not notified. Because of complexities in the state's DUI law, Roth could legally drive when he was charged with his fifth drunken driving violation since 2007 on Feb. 13, after police said he smashed his vehicle into a pickup truck parked in the driveway of the Millstadt home of a county deputy sheriff. The first DUI filed against Roth in April of 2007, several months after his Illinois driver's license was restored, was reduced to reckless conduct not involving a motor vehicle
Too bad this scum's picture will not post. It is from the Belleville News Democrat. He has terrorized St Louis and Illinois yet he is never really punished! Which Democrat does he know so that he keeps getting a get out of jail free card!!??

WASHINGTON — The natural gas industry says there should be plenty of the fuel for heating this winter and prices are likely to be about the same as last winter. Although nearly half of natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico remains shut down because of recent hurricanes, the industry expects gas inventories at the start of winter to be well above the five-year average. The Natural Gas Supply Association said Thursday gas production is expected to be about 8 percent higher than last winter, with more wells operating. The group expects the slowing economy to reduce industry demand for gas. And it says an expected milder-than-normal winter also should put downward pressure on prices. Has anyone else who is lucky enough to have ot live in the great state of Illinois noticed that while gas prices used to differ 5 cents from Missouri they are now 20 cents to 25 cents different? What is going on? Who is being allowed to pocket these profits? It keeps gong up 10cents a week but they difference has increased?!?! I know the lazy, corrupt Gov Rod is busy commuting on the private jet, managing his haircuts and fighting lawsuits while Obama has been MIA from Il. This is out of control. Higher property taxes, groceries, gas, utilities and significantly lower wages and benefits. How did this gas issue triple in difference?

Velvet Revolver founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner announced today that they are parting ways with singer Scott Weiland. "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either,” said Slash. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on." from the Velvet Revolver Official Website

I saw them in St Louis at The Pageant in 2004 when they first got together---PURE NON-STOP ROCK but you knew with drugs involved it wouldn't last. I knew it was going to be short lived. Wonder who the new lead singer will be....?

Axl Rose has responded to Dr. Pepper's generous offer, which gives everyone in America a can of the soda if Guns N' Roses releases 'Chinese Democracy' this year.
"We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr. Pepper," he said in a press release. "This came totally out of the blue." Rose also maintains that if his record company had anything to do with the stunt, he didn't know about it. He then went on to address the company's entertaining stipulation that Buckethead and Slash, whom Axl has butted heads with in the past, won't get the free goods: "As some of Buckethead's performances are on our album, I'll share my Dr. Pepper with him."
Sucks to be Slash.

The St. Charles, Mo.-based Pass Pets Ltd. had been located on the Upper Level next-door to Macy's and had previously occupied space on the Lower Level. ...
Thankfully this place is finally out of business. It sells for profits puppy mill dogs. I could not even walk past that place without becomming angry seeing those poor dogs on display stuffed in the windows, So sad. Dogs are COMPANION animals! Please rescue a dog or find a REPUTABLE breeder.

We went to the KID ROCK show last night at the Scottrade Center. As usual great, unusual show from a guy who gives you your 40 bucks worth.
Here is the camera policy that the Scottrade Center posted on there website before we left the house. Yes I check. I am a respectful concertgoer so if it say s no camera I do not try to "sneek it in" or give the minimum wage workers a hard time.
Kid Rock is coming to the Scottrade Center February 16, 2008, with special guest Rev Run, former frontman of Run-DMC!
Camera Policy:
Cameras are allowed at the Kid Rock concert under the following stipulations.
1. No video cameras allowed.
2. No flash photography may be used.
3. No cameras with a lens larger than 200mm.
4. Digital cameras are permitted as long as they do not record video.
Anyone that has a camera that violates the above stipulations will not be allowed to enter the building until they have returned the camera to their vehicle.
The first time I could recall this no one touched you at the doors--no patting down not even half hardly--NOTHING! Lots of coats on (wintertime) and I saw 3 LOOONG lenses --real cameras halfway trying to hide under coats--walked right in.
Camera and cell phone flashing EVERYWHERE! We had 12th row and for once I thought I could get a few good shots with my cheapie digital that did have a small-legal- zoom. After about 3 songs I was tapped and asked to give up my camera. I was walked over to guest service-ALL THE WAY AROUNG THE ARENA--. WHAT THE???? W"well we think it is bull#$%& but Kid Rock security changed their minds and are ejecting people from the show with cameras so you can turn it in now or leave. The whole way missing the show I saw hundreds of flashes and the rest of the night I saw about 8-10 people in front of me flashing away with all great shots of Kid Rock and REV Run???? THe flashed ALL NIGHT--never touched or asked to leave. Two Scottrade center employees just stood there and danced watching the flashes! EIther enforce the policy for everyone or stick it where the sun doesn't shine! Why was I singled out...I didn't have a skin tight outfit on or I didn't look like I would kick some butt??? Scottrade Center needs to think twice before they discriminate against a select few!
Concerts which I have attended about 4 per year since I was 12 years old are mostly like prison camps for the law abiding and the law breakers seem to rule. Yes, the Scottrade Center is one of the venues off my list of where my money will be spent. I will not be singled out --treat ALL PATRONS FAIRLY!
Also while picking up the camera--no high paid supervisor would come out of hiding---he/she left the minimum wage girls to take the heat.
Again what the ....either enforce the same "rule" for everyone or do not discriminate a few. They need to stop all events until they get some training and consistency.

Last year my husband and I went to the Oscar movie marathon at the AMC on West Olive. It is the Saturday before the Oscars.Thirty bucks for all the picture nominees , a collectible lanyard, popcorn and pop with refills all day. A movie lovers dream! The only negative was too much salt(my fault from the popcorn) and a few numb body parts from sititing so long.
I just found out it will be held again at the West Olive AMC AND this year Chesterfield(not sure if it is the Valley location). It is on the AMC website. The movies look better this year. It was a fun day with many crazy movie watchers all in one room! It looks like no pop included this year?! If anyone knows please post.
