The original War of the Worlds. It was broadcast sometime in the early 60's and scared the heck out of me. I hid behind my mom on the sofa, but could not look away. I think it is what started my love of Sci Fi.

CONAGHER: A Louis La Mour western with Sam Elliot & real life wife Katherine Ross.

SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS: An all round good time.

PRIDE & PREDJUDICE: The Emma Thompson adaptation. I love GOOD period pieces and with a cast as good as this one had, all around excellent.

OPEN RANGE: Kevin Costner really got into the mind of this character. Enjoyed the sweeping vistas and any old gritty western has my attention.

THE QUIET MAN: John Wayne is one of my all time favorite actors and this was so different than any of his westerns. I love the chemistry he and Maureen O'Hara had on screen in any of their films together.

Come Back, Little Sheba: With Burt Lancaster, Shirley Booth, its a 1952 Academy Award-winning movie

East of Eden: With James Dean, Burl Ives, and many more. Its a 1955 movie that gave James Dean his first Oscar nomination, for Best Actor.

Cleopatra: With Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Rex Harrison and many more. Its a 1963 movie that didn't get good reviews when it was first made, but is now a create classic.

I could go on and on, but as you can see I love old movies a lot more than any others. Actors in them days had to entertain you with their skills not like they do now with all the technical things they do with movies now.

My aunt and I used to watch the Falstaff Theater when I was a kid. Old black and white films were featured of which Saratoga Trunk starring Gary Cooper was my favorite. Yes, this is going back quite a bit. One of my favorite recent movies is Lady Killers starring Tom Hanks. It is a delightful blend of contrasts and characters.

You know when I was a kid I use to watch "Kukla, Fran & Ollie" they always had great kids films on. One I remember that I absolutely loved was "Three Nuts for Cinderella" it is the Czechoslavakian version of the old Cinderella story. Would love to see it again now that I'm older.
