Okay Cardinal fans, Jim Edmonds to CUBS!

I totaly love how our newscasters said it "thats a Cardinal Sin" I don't know about you but that makes me pretty angry....

but i also think he won't help them much with his low batting average, i think his career basically is done and if your last resort is to become a CUB Then your career must be over....

Edmonds won't hurt the Cubs that much because Pinella won't allow it. I believe he'll reach the .250 BA mark by the break and will make some great catches.

His career is definitely near the end because of his years of service and age. I think he would've like to retire here in St. Louis though.

Cubs are much better than the Cards so we will always be playing catch up.

i agree with speedy. his career is definately going downhill but i think part of it is that he is not happy. i think he would have liked to stay in st louis for the duration of his career and then retire as a cardinal......

brockfan: Thanks for the comment. I am sure that he would have liked to stay here for the 2008 season then retire. He probably would've taken millions less too.

But - since Edmonds left look at what we have...Ankiel (as of today) is hitting .285 with 7 HR and 21 RBI...and throwing guys out from the track and making some great catches. So, I guess releasing Jimmy wasn't so bad.

I just hate to see a trade of a great player that was a fan favorite and probably 1-2 years away from retiring anyway.

The Cards and Cubs are pretty much even teams. They are built with some great lead off men while their 4, 5, and 6 batters have power.

We at least have the "no choke" factor when it comes to the playoffs - if we can make it in this year while the Cubs.....CHOKED!

Really...they are both great teams and will probably be fighting back and forth for the number 1 slot in the NL Cental. They just need to test Derrick Lee for steroids!
