I have not seen a blog about this so I figured I would write one. On Feb. 21, 2008 the community of St. Charles lost a member of our family who was fighting for our freedom. LCpl Drew W. Weaver lost his life in the line of duty. We may not know this soldier and we may not support this war, but the least we can do is pay our respects and say thank you for what he did for us while he was over there. While I personally didn't know him my sister did and from what she has said this is one person who was very nice and caring.

Here is the information I got off of the funeral homes website.

St. Charles City Mayor Patty York would ask the residents of St. Charles and surrounding communities to appropriately pay respects to LCpl. Drew W. Weaver and the family by lining the streets of the processional routes and in particular as the funeral motorcade passes through the City of St. Charles. Mayor York has also requested all flags within the City of St. Charles, Missouri and be flown at half mass until services are concluded for LCpl Drew W. Weaver.

FUNERAL PROCESSION ROUTE FRIDAY FEBRUARY 29, 2008: Departing the Funeral Home at approximately 9:30 AM East on West Clay to North on Droste Road, passing his former High School, St. Charles West, to Zumbehl Road to the Church. Entering west into the North drive of the church parking lot. Departing the Church at approximately 11:45 AM South on Zumbehl Road to West Clay to St. Charles Memorial Gardens.

I know that I am going and a few other bloggers, but if you would like to go just leave a comment in here and maybe we can all meet up somewhere and stand together.

Hugs

~K~

May Drew and his family never be forgotten for their sacrifice. Drew gave his tomorrows for our todays like many men and women before him. Earn each day in memory of those brave men and women.

My heart goes out to the family of Drew....my oldest son is there in iraq right now for his third tour of duty. Its hard on us all.....even harder on my wife. And i know hard on all the other families that have someone close to them there. Its so good to check email and see a quick note from him. But better if they'll all come home. Tell his family we're proud of him!

Hey Katie
Great Blog! I just sat here and watched the news coverage on this sad story. I pray that one day this war is over and our men and woman come home. Enough. Much peace to his family and friends.

I would be there but I have a doctors appointment. Miss you!

Peace, Jana

Hey Katie...I know I'm a little late posting but I'd just like to say that as you know, being the wife of a soldier I live with this reality every single day that I breathe. I've been through two deployments with my hubby, one with my nephew, and countless with those they serve with every day. Although I have never been through what Drew's family is going through, I can relate through my own worries and fears for my family. So I always remember that they chose their path for us, and through us they should be honored.
I will keep Drew and his family in my prayers and always be thankful for what he died fighting for.

God Bless!

My name is Katie and I have 3 amazing kids who keep me very busy! I enjoy going to the Lake of the Ozarks, swimming, taking my kids to the park and whatever else I can find for us to do, going to Cardinals and Blues games, I love to be outside during the summer, but during the winter you will find me hiding inside somewhere. The cold and I don't get along. In whatever free time I can find I like to hang out with my friends, go shopping and I love to go dancing.
