Took these from my front door.

I took this picture Wed as we were heading out to spend the day  downtown.  We were hoping to head up W to 44, but W was already closed.  This is of Rockford Beach where I eat my lunch during the summer.  I guess it's a good thing the tables are chained down!!







This was taken at the same area during my lunch break on Thursday.  Around 1pm.



This is a pic on the other side of the bridge.  That farm is where we buy our mulch in the spring.  They have never evacuated, but they were being rescued when I took this picture.  The water was entering the house.

As some of you know my husband and I are moving across state next year.  Now, we've lived in our current house for 9 years, and started w/ nothing.  I've worked really hard landscaping the yard, and I have to say it's pretty cool.

My question is, moving and selling the house, once it's on the market, you have to pretty much leave everything as is.  I want to take some of my bulbs and perenials w/ me, to start a new garden after we move.

How can I go about this?  Should I wait until spring?  Or would it be best to dig up the bulbs now?  How do I store them etc...  I am also going to move some hosta and hopefully part of a butterfly bush.

 

I appreciate it, because, I love my flowers, and it breaks my heart to leave my gardens behind.  Thanks!

 

 

Sitting out in the back yard over the last week or so we've noticed hundreds of seed ticks.  They're falling out of the trees..  It's crazy!

I'm finding them crawling on me, I find them in the middle of the night, They're every where.  What's the deal?  I've never seen them this bad.

 

Is it the heat?  And by the way, has anyone else noticed there don't seem to be any mosquitoes right now?  Weird.. 

 

I was looking around my yard this morning. My Hosta looks like bad lettuce, and my tiger lillies are very droopy.  However, the dandylions are in FULL BLOOM!!!

 

 

What's up w/ that?!

Um, It's like sleeting here. So weird.

Spring is my favorite time of year.  I love wandering around the yard taking pictures.  Luckily this year I was able to get this pic of my magnolia bush before the freeze.

 

 

This is what it looks like this morning...  sigh.
