Last night Andy and I went to town to a local bar  We haven't been down there in quite awhile...

Anyway, as I was walking this guy calls me over. He tells me he has a joke for me.

OK. So he proceeds to tell me the joke, about the 5th word in he uses the "N" word. Now I don't know if ya'll know me well, but anyone who uses that word in front of me WILL get an earfull!

He goes on and on and on.. In all I think he said it 10 times.. I politely listened to him. And when he finished I didn't laugh. He asked me if I didn't think it was funny. And I told him the truth.

"Well, actually I stopped listening the first time you used the "N" word. I don't appreciate you using that word in front of me. Not at all. It's very rude"

And he got mad at me and said,"Well fine, why don't you just move along on your miss goody two shoe twinkle toes"

So I moved on.  And he gave me dirty looks all night.  What is it that makes people think it's ok to talk like that?!   I just don't get it.

He Learned it from his Elders... Ignorance is passed from generation to generation.... I raised my kids better and I hope it continues on to their Kids....

I would dare him to tell me that joke.

I also don't like to hear the F word. When anyone includes that in their speech, they lose me at that word.

Yep, it's their mentality. If someone talks like that around me, I usually ask them to watch their language, or just walk away. I like a good joke as much as the next person, but I don't need all the colorful metaphors. The only way to break the cycle is to teach our children that it's not acceptable language.

If he was glaring at you all night, then you made him think about what he said. You planted a good seed, maybe he has enough fertilizer in him for it to take root. In either case you did the right thing.

Would have done the same thing. Too "nice" to blow him off right away, but did Andy know what he said? If I was with a guy that talked to me that way he might not have made it out of the bar in one piece.

Being a goody-two shoes is not necessarily a bad thing.....Certainly better than being a bigot.

He is exercising his right to free speech. He obviously lacks common sense because the "N" word has no relevance to any joke.

Yes, there are joke categories such as dumb blonde, lawyer, hillybilly, black, and religious jokes (plus more) - but using the "N" shows that this person lacked something we ALL need to fine tune.....CLASS!

First off I would said Awwww you said a bad word..Then I say your not very nice guy..
Then I turn and walk away..

If you ask me he is nothing but a jerk who has never been taught manners..

Good for you for telling him off in your own way. You were way too nice to him if you ask me. I would have probably gone off. That is just wrong. Did you even know this guy?

Stupid is as stupid does.

I like that speedy. He lacks class. Good description. May I say that all these replies are showing class. Except for mine. I'm afraid I would have punched him out. That word bugs the hell out of me, no matter who uses it.

I just don't understand why people think it is so funny to use in a joke? Black or white, there is no humor in it at all. I cringe everytime I here the N word and the C word. Oh how I hate that C word. I am sure you all know what I am talking about. That is just so horrible.

Hey Eye . . . you handled this much better than I would have. I would have probably been right there with mechany and decked him.

I had a neighbor that was standing on my deck bad mouthing some pretty historic figures in baseball. I had guests visiting from out of town and he started using the N word and I blew up. I am so happy I am no longer in that subdivision . . . the idiot!

Yeah connie, the C word shows ignorance also.
You ladies are just way to fine for anyone to say that.
Lady, I will deck him and you get to kick him. Sounds like we would make a good tag team! LOL

I'm with you guys on "decking the clown" BUT you would be worse than him then. What he did was sheer ignorance and again - conveyed total proof that he lacked CLASS.

By knocking the BOOGEDY out of this bigot, you become the aggressor therefore are busted with battery and possibly assault charges. I am with you though.

OR....wait for the clown to leave and it's a fair assumption that someone with that mentality (saying N) would also be consistent in his lacking CLASS thus he'd be DUI/DWI - so have a cop waiting...

He probably has a few DUI's/DWI's now this one will give him a year in jail plus a $1,000+ in fines, he'll lose his job (and friends), wife (if married) will be ticked....see, that beats a black eye, doesn't it?! LOL.

You are a brainwashed lover of the black community!!!!!

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but WORDS will never hurt me.
Do you know what that means?
It's just a word...what's the big deal......You have sold out and I think that makes you pretty dumb. Aren't there more important things to worry about???

hog, why do you even comment on this? obviously you don't have more important things to worry about if you are commenting on this. If you don't like it then go somewhere else. You are so negative.

mechany, I put one guy down (I was a teen) and he threatened me, then grabbed me. He was a carney worker. I gave him one good swift kick, then went to visit my best friend's dad, who was the deputy sherriff. The guy was ordered out of town and told to never return.

My husband and I have been married for 14 years, and have 3 boys. I work part time as a receptionist for a Chiropractor, and I have to say, I LOVE MY JOB! On my days off, I love hanging out at the river, and my new hobby fishing. I also sew on the side, odd jobs and such. I'm hoping to get back into crafting now that the kids are back in school.
